I planted a couple of these bushes about 10 years ago
they are now taller than me & were chock full of blossoms in May
I mounted a magnifying glass on my Canon Rebel! It was super simple, I just taped it to a macro extension tube. Its gives me some pretty crazy, lo-fi results.
Amazing. Q2 Mono, handheld, with one pass of Photoshop colorize. Extreme sharpness plus slightly weird colors. Intriguing artistic possibilities.
A few peanuts and some bird seed on an old stump and they came to me. I got so many pictures of this squirrel that it was hard to decide which to keep.
Just need some sunshine! Been feeling a little down since our vacation, and we've had nothing but rain, rain and more rain. When I woke to find our yard flooded there was nothing to do but get the floaties blown up. Shot for CC Weekly theme Low POV and for a laugh - I'm sure our neighbours think we've lost it!
This guy landed on our backyard birdhouse to take a break while it was snowing. His head rotated constantly as he seemed to be looking for something to eat during the 15 minutes or so he stayed atop the birdhouse. There was discussion on Facebook after I posted this about whether it was a Cooper's or Sharp Shinned Hawk. I have no idea- even after looking them up. BTW, the birdhouse is set into a piece of driftwood, which is what he is sitting on.
Spidy keeps building these giant webs in our yard.
background is flowers in my garden, pink flocks, black-eyed-susans
We bought a house at the beginning of July and finally got to move in a month later. One of the selling points for us was the huge garden with a plethora of flowers, plants, fruits and vegetables. Neither my wife nor I have a green thumb so this will for us to develop it. I just wanted to show one of the fruits growing in our backyard - grapes!
Fujifilm X100S
Saw this cute little guy in our backyard. The ironic part is, it is sitting on our ultrasonic pest repeller. I had to shoot this guy through the backdoor glass because I knew if I opened the door, he would bug out. Best viewed "large".

I tried getting the dogs to pose and failed. The only ones who would cooperate for a quick photo were the kitchenbots and me.
I work from home on most Fridays and today I didn't get off of calls until after 4PM. I wanted to take advantage of the last of the daylight so out to the backyard I went to find these dried up pods..
Springtime with the Ocotillo blooming invites many birds to the desert including the backyard jewel, the Black-chinned Hummingbird.
