Looks very nice. Found during emptying my parents' house.

In the box were white folded paper with some powder. I think against diarrhea.

I finally finished Alicia Paulson's Sunshine Day Afghan. I am soooo happy with how it turned out. I supersized it to 120 squares and sewed them together using only the back loops so the front side had a textured ridge at each seam. www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/sunshine-day-baby-afghan

His backside is the first view you get of Vulcan when you pull into the park and park. This was taken from the observation deck.

Vulcan was constructed as Alabama's exhibit for the 1904 World's Fair in St Louis. Vulcan, the Roman god of the forge, was to represent Birmingham's large part in the iron/steel industry. An Itialian sculptor, Guiseppe Moretti was paid $6000 to sculpt him. He was produced in Birmingham furnaces using local iron ore. He stands 56 feet tall and is thus the largest cast iron statue in the world.

San Francisco tried to purchase him at the close of the World's Fair but Birmingham declined the offer. However, once returned back to Birmingham, he was dumped beside the railroad tracks in many pieces, where he lay for 2 years. He was temporarily displayed at the state fairgrounds where his arm was on backwards and his outstretched hand was seen holding everything from a Heinz pickle jar to a Coca Cola bottle to an ice cream cone--all for promotion. Thanks to a WPA project, Vulcan was moved to what became Vulcan Park atop Red Mountain. In 1946, a torch was placed in his hand that would burn red if a traffic fatality had occurred or green if no deaths had occurred. In 2004, Vulcan was completely taken apart and restored as he was about to literally fall apart. His legs had been filled with concrete over the years in an attempt to anchor him.
