I was fascinated by the texture of the leaves on the little shrubs in the Target parking lot. You only notice them when they are backlit. So I went back and photographed them again today, with limited success. Not sure how to make them as interesting to others as they are to me.

The outline of the man is cut into a plate of steel, with the figure of a woman placed in front of the relief.
Strobist: Vivitar 285HV with Cactus trigger placed behind the figure, pointed at camera. The fog adds the glow and bright "stars".
Walking our dog this afternoon in the neighborhood, these leaves were just glowing with beautiful backlight.

Tres actitudes
Era de noche. Jesús y once discípulos entraron en un huerto. Ocho de ellos se sentaron a la entrada. Jesús llevó con él a tres de los más allegados y les dijo: “Quedaos aquí, y velad conmigo”. Él mismo se alejó un poco más y se arrodilló, diciendo: “Padre, si quieres, pasa de mí esta copa (sufrimiento); pero no se haga mi voluntad, sino la tuya” (Lucas 22:42). Él sabía que iba a morir en la cruz cargado con los pecados de todos los que en él creyeran.¿Dónde estaban los discípulos en este momento crucial? Judas, el traidor, había ido para encontrarse con los jefes religiosos. Recibió dinero de ellos y se dirigió hacia el lugar que conocía bien… para entregar a Jesús. Los ocho que estaban a la entrada del huerto se durmieron. Los tres allegados pudieron comprender mejor la situación, porque su Maestro les expresó abiertamente su angustia. Sin embargo, también se durmieron. Dos veces Jesús se acercó a ellos y preguntó: “Simón, ¿duermes? ¿No has podido velar una hora?” (Marcos 14:37). Jesús volvió a alejarse y siguió orando; y fue vencedor mediante la obediencia.
Sin duda, nadie podía compartir los sufrimientos de Cristo al acercarse la crucifixión, pero estas tres actitudes nos interpelan: ¿Somos solamente débiles?, ¿no nos concierne la situación?, ¿o somos enemigos de Cristo?
Cristo, en los días de su carne, ofreciendo ruegos y súplicas con gran clamor y lágrimas al que le podía librar de la muerte, fue oído.
