I have posted these flowers on the porch before, but tonight I decided to play with backlighting. I have been reading a lot about how backlit subjects can really have the most dramatic "pop" ......so I was trying it out and I agree, it is more interesting that the ones I have done with these plants lithted from the front. I am setting up my old black and white darkroom in the basement.....practicing that again too.
Strobist: Extreme backlighting galore; sun reflected into a lake. Shot with a macro lens at 100mm with an off-camera flash from front left to lighten up the tree.
High speed synchronized at 1/2500 and f/4.5.
I like my Cosina lens, it's not at all prone for strange sun flare effects.

Anyway, had much fun while trying to focus correctly and find a reasonably working pose :)
A spontaneous "grab shot" I took while having lunch. This kid kept running back and forth, practically inviting me to put down my burger and pick up my camera.
