Actually, I have never used this function of my macbook pro. This light makes me dizzy.
I have posted these flowers on the porch before, but tonight I decided to play with backlighting. I have been reading a lot about how backlit subjects can really have the most dramatic "pop" ......so I was trying it out and I agree, it is more interesting that the ones I have done with these plants lithted from the front. I am setting up my old black and white darkroom in the basement.....practicing that again too.
Taken with the sun directly behind the flower, giving the backlighting effect, and revealing some unexpected detailsa around the head, against the dramatic background halo. Three heads include for composition.
Tech Info: No manipulation, other than curves to give some detail to the dark areas.
