It was a night portrait activity , we invited the lovely Taichun girl黃飄飄 standing at Taipei north gate street , the background was full of many cars , 飄飄 kept still pose and action , by slow speed shutter of camera, the pictures was very special of the motion background , thank飄飄, she did her best model job

Other Elements my own
Mid-Town Global market is a melange of ethnic eateries, gift shops, artisans, bars, etc. It has a Westernized feeling of a Middle East souk and community gathering place.
And as one might expect there is this large mural that is a retro depiction of such a marketplace. I noticed the figures were representative of different ethnic groups, as well as culturally different foods and services.
What struck me was this man sitting there having his cup of coffee and how he was a living part of that mural.
I like those kinds of juxtapositions and look for them to photograph. I processed this photo with, what I hope, is a mural-like flavor to express some continuity between the reality and the background work. At least that was the intention.
It is difficult to keep focused on 1 disaster when there are so many. Katrina, Japan, New Zealand, economies, terrorists, riots...
So I pay attention to the sounds of birds and dogs and cats amidst the background noise of rotten politicians and corporations...

In Week 9, we were reminded to focus as much on the background as on the subject. An effective background will add to the story, providing valuable information about your setting, and helping to dramatically enhance your photo. Backgrounds also give a sense of where the subject is or create a mood.
