Again, Paul knows how much I love flowers and as there's not much going on in the garden, he often buys me flowers.
I think he chooses them in the secret hope that I'm going to photograph them, hihi.
And he's right, I DO.
I enjoy taking them to the studio and trying out all kinds of lighting using flags and cutters.

I don't talk to flowers, they talk to me and I gladly listen with my eyes!
Shimmering in silky tones I discovered these, a mix if white and pink I had NEVER seen before!
The petals look 'waxy' but feel silky soft!
The peony was originally introduced as medicine.
In fact, its ancient Japanese name "Ebisugusuri" literally means ‘medicine from China’.
However, due to its beautiful and now mostly double blooms, in time, many decorative varieties were developed. In Japanese society, it was seen both as a medicine and a source of beauty.

Created 3 scenery ATC with the layered background technique, but instead of embossing I used gesso.
The Hero Arts Art (G2678) smugded with gesso and stamped on the background. When dry enough mask a sun and created the background coloring. Added several grasses and flowers in different colors green and finaly some in black

It is often quite hard to combine different elements of weather and nature into one. Startin with a beautiful sunrise in the very background on harsh mountains with fall colors to leafless trees and green pines to the elements of weather - snow, sunlight and mist, this picture is sure a medley of nature

In the background is the cupola of the Pierce-Arrow Museum.

Today is first day of Spring, but here unfortunately, only in the calendar... Outside today all day was snowing, so I can to look at the Spring only on my home window ;)

In October 1970 No. 58 heads a load of coal from Seghill (or Dudley) colliery towards Burradon, probably bound for Weetslade Coal Preparation Plant.
In the background is the waste heap for the Backworth pits, at the site of the old 'C' pit.
A chimney and some of the Belgian(?) kilns of the former Hotspur brickworks are also visible.
