These are the terraced rice fields in Longsheng. They are commonly referred to as the dragon's backbone.
Why I called it the backbone couloir.
coyote? deer ? at about 9500 along the South Fork of Big Pine creek, below a couloir on Mt Alice. Goes with the anatomy theme as the Cleavage couloir is nearby.
A celebration of the Backbone Campaign's work with our friends and allies. Our 2015 Chocolatada took place soon after our Kayaktivist blockade of Shell's Polar Pioneer (aka Polar Plunderer) in Seattle and a few weeks prior to our efforts in Portland to blockade the Fennica, Shell's contracted icebreaker. Councilman Mike O'Brien spoke as did Fred Fellaman and a number of the key kayaktivist team members.

The beginning - and end - of the ride. We didn't ride the full 4+ miles, we rode 2.8 to the fire road and back. The last mile and change past that was supposed to be more mellow, but with no shade. And it was hot. We decided to stick to the more exciting single track.
