Decided to spend this week practicing macro photography...which I dislike....very challenging for me. This lady bug was the size of a dot on a page-must have been a baby. A slight breeze made focusing very diffucult [handheld].
The insect below was moving in circles...so I had to wait until he turned facing me. No clue what he is. [Robber Fly--thanks LeapFrog! for the ID].
Jasmine was puzzled why I stopped throwing the ball for her....but she is a saint and waited patiently as I took these pics.
This beetle flittered into the house when I opened the door. He landed on the floor, I put my hand down there. He grabbed onto my finger until got him to the porch.

I'm realizing that Heiress (right) likes starting disputes with the other alpacas. She began making noises in Anna's ear, then spit at her, for apparently no reason. I separated the two, and she then did the same to sweet Bambi, behind her in the shed. I gently told her, "No, Heiress," and she started in on Hazel before settling down. In the background, at left, Luna is picking over spilled cracked corn. I had given it to the alpacas to get them out of their shed, so I could clean the messy floor.

We had some major fog this morning and capturing this in black and white makes it that much more creepy.

08575 trundles back to Haymarket depot after a spot of shunting. The loco is passing the domestic coal sidings that were once a prominent feature of the area to the east of both the depot and the former Granton branch earthworks.

A young lady stands at the back of the Jet Express Ferry looking back at the Lake Erie Islands and reflects on her day....shortly after departing South Bass Island on our way back to the main land. The skies over Lake Erie were truly amazing after the sun went down that particular evening.
Tonemapped a single RAW file in Photomatix in attempt to liven up a rather simple image.
