In 1826, Samual and David Collins, along with their cousin William Wells, started the world's first axe factory in Connecticut. They manufactured all kinds of edge tools; machetes, picks, knives and axes. Their premium quality tools were used all over the world, even to construct the Trans-Siberian Railroad.
Today it is used for various commercial spaces. Still, original construction can be seen everywhere, like this corner where the morning light spills through the old windows.
Well Hemyock is normally a small sleepy village in the Blackdown Hills, but at this years village fete ! - - The local scout group organised axe throwing for the children.
My guess is that "health and safety" were not top of the list of priorities .
(Oh and all the scouts had to wear kilts this year. Just to add to the fun).
inspired by axes from that famous online game, i don't remember the name cuz i have the old pictures, so i forgot the game's name, well, wish u like :)
I've not kept good care of Dad's old boy scout axe (badge symbol on top, the word GENUINE stamped in the middle), but I still have it.
If anyone every finds this and asks, I will reluctantly tell the story when as a stupid drunk college student Alan lost Dad's old scout knife.

..... I was glad to leave the farm behind me. The farmer's wife Sara kept staring at me. I felt very uncomfortable. I feel sorry for Pete, she seems like a very difficult woman.
I went back to the King's Road and followed it through the forest.
Cries for help came my way and I rushed towards the noise.
A girl was dangling from the top of a tree.
Some knight was chopping vigorously at the base of the tree.
When the girl was not begging the knight to stop, she was screaming she was not a witch.
Kind of hard to believe if you dress in black, have a pointy hat and fly around on a broomstick .....
Axe Valley have got some new stock since the last time I was in the area - I saw a Streetlite on the 885 as well as this Enviro200, LX58LJA. It was acquired from Bus Eireann reportedly as 09-D-3733.
AVMT Buses (Axe Valley Mini Travel) are owners of this fine, reliable example of a Dennis Dart MPD/Plaxton Pointer 2.
It is only a reserve vehicle, however has recently seen service due to Solos breaking! 506's lime green sister X595FBB used to be at AVMT too.

The Forge is bulky, brawny, and designed to take and dish out a beating. While significantly heavier than its competitor, the Skelatin, the Forge makes up for its bulk with a suite of thrusters on the rear of its skirting armor, arms, and legs, allowing it surprisingly swift maneuvering capabilities both on land and in space.
Typical armaments for the Forge range from light pistols to heavy machine guns. Here, it wields a plasma axe capable of superheating to rend through enemy frames like butter.

The 1510 series was based on the 1975-1979 Simca-Chrysler 1307 / 1308 / 1309, which was designed by Roy Axe. This was a very modern looking car at that time.
The 1979 restyle brought us the 1510 hatchback. The 1980 4-door version was called Solara.
These two models were rebranded as Simca-Talbot after PSA had taken over Chrysler-Europe in late 1978.
In the UK this car was called Talbot Alpine.
