With First H&D's withdrawal from Exeter, Axe Valley introduced the 52 from Seaton to Exeter to ensure that the link was not completely lost, although Stagecoach's 9A does cover the route albeit via Sidmouth. Here, LF52ZPP, still wearing London colours (and a little bit of branding on the rear too) arrives in to Exeter, with a view of the massive building work on the old bus park behind.
Of course First return to Exeter this summer on regular service work with the Dartmoor Explorer from First South West.

Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile and the Luxor Obelisk can be seen from inside the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel. The path from the Louvre, through the Tuileries Gardens and all along the Champs Élysées, forms the "Axe historique"
Created a new steel wool delivery system last night, worked much better than expected! Brought out my
"Axe" as a prop.
Some cropping and added some tilt-shift in PS, but other than that pretty much straight from the camera.
I spent the whole day photographing an Osprey at Seaton on the River Axe, Devon and was rewarded when this juvenile bird hovered a few feet away while flying into a stiff southerly breeze, blowing straight up the river.
It is a juvenile bird and is still learning how to fish. Having caught a small fish around 9am it wasn't successful again to 5pm but it sure did put in numerous attempts throughout the day.
This was a amazing opportunity to photograph a wild Osprey in its natural environment. Such a pleasure to see, enjoy and in no way set up.

The river Öxará (Axe river) runs through Þingvellir.
This is taken just below the waterfall Öxaráfoss.
Well Hemyock is normally a small sleepy village in the Blackdown Hills, but at this years village fete ! - - The local scout group organised axe throwing for the children.
My guess is that "health and safety" were not top of the list of priorities .
(Oh and all the scouts had to wear kilts this year. Just to add to the fun).
In 1826, Samual and David Collins, along with their cousin William Wells, started the world's first axe factory in Connecticut. They manufactured all kinds of edge tools; machetes, picks, knives and axes. Their premium quality tools were used all over the world, even to construct the Trans-Siberian Railroad.
Today it is used for various commercial spaces. Still, original construction can be seen everywhere, like this corner where the morning light spills through the old windows.
The Jurassic Coaster X53 now terminates at Axminster, with First having given up the service from Lyme Regis to Seaton, Beer and Exeter. Nowadays, Axe Valley operate the route as the 387 (to Seaton) and 52 (to Exeter). Ironically, LK59CXD was new to First as their 37787 to the London operation, before it passed to Metroline.
