One of our downtown buildings was spruced up a few years ago, with decorative ironwork on the apartment windows. They also installed new windows and doors on the ground floor and a bright blue awning. Sadly the store is currently vacant.

WEEK 36 – Horn Lake Freddy’s Construction
Not my best shot here, what with that tree blocking much of the Freddy’s building, but at the very least you get to see the truck being used to help install that new Freddy’s lettering on the front. More interestingly, in the parking lot below, you can see several of the awnings that were soon to be affixed to the building simply laying around, waiting to be installed. By sheer coincidence, there’s a man in the parking lot near the awnings, allowing us to get a good idea of just how comparatively large those awnings are!! Much bigger than I was expecting…
Oh, and we also get the HL Kroger cube in the background. Who doesn’t love a good Kroger cube? :)

These places are public so these photos are too, but just as I tell where they came from, I'd appreciate if you'd say who :)

and "J.M. Solky & Co. Furnishers."

05/365 I thought I might work outside, but there was still this penetrating damp chill going on. So, I retreated back to the warmth of the fireplace.

Have an old house? Go retro with awnings. They are cool looking, especially with window boxes, and they save energy in the summer. Don't forget to get screens to keep the bugs out.
