Sometimes when an older fellow passes on "his wisdom" the world is unmoved. Reflection in a glass awning, NYC.
This is one of my last shots taken outdoors before venturing inside for the reception. Light was fading fast, flash batteries were in the charger so I did a quick lens change from a 24-70L and opting for my 50/1.8. Shot using Canon 5D, available light. My bride is standing in a doorway which has a awning above it, natural light was streaming in from a small area above our bluestone enclosed courtyard. I managed to get about 50 different shots in just a few minutes, this one here I particularly like for the way she was looking out over her shoulder.

Another perspective of an old storefront in Wheeling, with awning windows on the 2nd floor, great brick and stonework,
segmental arches above the 3rd floor windows, and detailed brick cornice.
the fact that there was a blue car going by was just a coincidence-- honest!!

salty sea air causes decay in the metal awning covering the pavement of the shops along the main strip to the beach of Paignton
I must have had some sort of mania!
Pissing with rain all day and pitch dark and yet I was out photographing trains.
It was my rest day Tuesday so the weather was no surprise. What was a surprise, however, was a Derby RTC - Carlisle High Wapping Sidings test train.
The fact that it was a 31, to wit; 31233, meant it would have to be gone out for as I'd not seen one on the coast for a couple of years and I suspect that their days are numbered.
There were two other guys on Workington station for it so at least I'm not the only loony around here.
Here 1Q47 passes Workington Main No.2 'box in rain like stair-rods on maximum zoom and ridiculous ISO from the shelter of the station awning.
Last weeks temps were above freezing for the first time in months, we even had some thunderstorms roll thru which provided my neighbor with a new window awning :) Temps are now back below zero
It was a cloudy, overcast, diffused light kind of day. I saw this awning with it's wonderfully peeling paint and just had to grab a shot. The hunter green and red-clay red work so nicely together, and the textures add a whole different layer of interest for me.
WEEK 39 – “Stateline Square” Former Super Kmart
Taking a step out into the parking lot, I've got a wide shot of the front of the store, starring the boxy remains of the former Kmart signage. It appears Burlington repainted their portion when they changed the sign and did those interior improvements. Now it's time to head down to Bargain Hunt, which might just scoff at the words “interior improvements!”

These places are public so these photos are too, but just as I tell where they came from, I'd appreciate if you'd say who :)
