A blue and white awning covers the blue skies and provides shade over an outdoor picnic area at Siesta Key beach in Florida.
Low angle light casting the shadow of a shop awning onto a nearby wall. The sun was a couple of minutes minutes away from sinking below rooftop level at this point.

HSS! adjusted/angled a rainbow color filter in ippicy and added color vibrance.
Glass awning, NYC. Taken after rain using a polarizer to bring out the color. The patterns are from the skyscraper across the street as seen through the glass and droplets.

Had a few ideas but I kept coming back to the awning taken looking up whilst sitting on a patio chair . Simple as that really , I knew not to open it fully because that way the struts are still in the shot whereas fully extended the struts would be flat against the sides . An added extra over on the right is the huge Pyracantha casting shadows on the awning - although they show up more on the original colour version .
The black & white was created using the flickr editor and choosing the B&W - " Hard Stuff "

Bright green striped awnings sprining out from the shops around Sha Tin Square, to protect pedestrians from the sun and rain. In Hong Kong, both were frequent occurrences!
To those who have expressed worry for my wellbeing, these pictures were taken naclk in 2018, well before the current protest situation.
