Sometimes you walk towards a scene and are visually overwhelmed by what you see. I fell in love with all the patterns. I had to capture it in that very moment, tripod, filters, and remote sitting in the car, be damned.

The smoke appears to have followed us from BC all the way to Calgary. This scene, at dusk, caught my eye because it offers a unique contrast of rural and modern.

It was overcast for most of the day. Then a peaceful evening descended upon us. Deep down, what we all hope for.

What more can you ask for after a soul-soothing #worship at the grandiose Lord Shiva statue #temple at Murudeshwara.

The smoky air in the Okanagan has been relentless this summer.

When it's night and it's pouring, a 365 project taker has to get creative. Does it work for you or it's a little too out there?

This morning I woke up to complete fog. I couldn't see the trees outside my window. Over the course of the day, however, the sky assumed a much clearer and dramatic look, particularly at sunset when I took this photo. I reached this location intent on taking a shot of the lake. The resulting photo was nice but not as dramatic as this lone tree and sky which I captured by literally turning my camera away from the lake for a moment.

Night Frog

By the firelight we saw a frog hop its way into our camp site. With our headlamps on I was able to get a really close macro shot. The darkness and reflections brought down the quality a bit; but it was nice to see some wildlife around the fire.

Not far from Toogood Pond there is a smaller park in Unionville. This one has a fountain going full blast, even on a wet day like today.

I love finding vantage points on high hills. I found this one by simply exploring a backroad, not caring where it led. Much like in life, where wandering can lead to unique viewpoints and perspectives. Just what you needed.

Sometimes the path is clear. Taking that first step is all you have to do.

Today was a rainy day. As we got closer to sunset the storm got tired and lost its vigor. This serene scene I captured at Vaseux Lake was during a moment of calm following heavy showers. Everything in nature and life is a constant cosmic dance between opposing elements. I can't help but love both states and the struggle between them.

Also known as Okotoks Erratic, Big Rock is a 16,500-tonne boulder in the middle of the prairie landscape. It is supposedly one of the largest glacial erratics in the world.
