Brunch at Garage Espresso and my favourite breakfast there . . . avocado mash with Persian feta, lemon, mint, parsley and chilli on cornbread with a side of smoked salmon . . . delicious!

Do you like Avacado??? I know I sure do and again my creative energy was high today. So I put the avacado on a white background and then added all the warm textures to give this an Old World Culinary Flair.

I hope you like it!

My first attempt in my search to develop the perfect taco. Bite-sized tartare of grain fed beef, avacado puree. Taco is crisp parmesan. So many ideas....this will develp

My first time inside a Taco Bell since sometime before the start of the pandemic. (I was only accompanying somebody here, not indulging in the food itself, save for a little bit of the avacado ranch sauce, which is quite tasty on a regular salad!) And as expected, the interior décor was quite non-descript, though even more so than I would have thought...

Here is a photo I took of a platter of healthy food for a recent get-together....carrots, celery, avacado, sliced onions, olives, lettuce and chicken salad.

Brunch at Botanico Woolton Village

I found a little collection of completely mutant avacados last week during my bike ride.

They were red and bright green. And small.

I picked them up because they were on the ground, took them home a shot a few non-high speed pictures.

Today I decided to shoot a few to see what would happen. The first ideas looked fairly boring. Just for kicks, I set one up like this shot. It looked much better, so I shot a few more.

It's been awhile since I've posted some food porn....I love sushi, it is one of my fav foods. Raw fish in general is a fav: Sashimi , nigiri, rolls.....yum!

Although, I must admit, it was not love at first bite. I've spent alot of time in Japan for work....@ one point I actually lived there 4 or 5 months....But it was my first trip that was the big intro to Japanese culture and food. My colleagues in Tokyo had told me they arranged to take me to lunch my first day to a very special place....the decor was very traditional, with seating on the floor, and it was very expensive.... Sooo....there I am reeling from some of the worst jet lag ever (it was my very first trip to Asia and my very first stop on the journey)....and we go to lunch....they order for me and shortly the food comes out....it is a huge slab o' sashimi (about the size of my hand), some steamed rice and a few pickled veggies....Well, I must admit, the sight of this slab o' raw fish didn't look too good to me....but....in the spirit of adventure and trying new things I ate every bite....still I did not love it but smiled and nodded approvingly to my hosts.

Sooo....guess where we went back to lunch the next day? You got it.....by the end of my 2 week visit, I had eaten raw fish many times....and the love affair was cemented. Not to mention I had to pin my skirt at the waist as I'd lost a couple of inches on my new found diet. ;-)

The above sushi rolls were enjoyed by Sean and I while we were in Niagara Falls.....we had dinner at a Korean/Japanese place-- a fun combo and the sushi was of a very high quality. These rolls looked so pretty in their presentation, we had to snap a pic! :-)

First attempt at sushi rolls was a great success. And hella cheap :DD. We've missed sushi since Vancouver.
