Pic à front jaune / Yellow-fronted Woodpecker / Melanerpes flavifrons

Pic de taille moyenne multicolore et grégaire. Remarquez les ailes, la queue et le masque noirs, le front et les yeux jaunes, le croupion blanc et le ventre rouge bordé de barres sombres. Les mâles ont une couronne et un cou rouges, qui sont noirs chez les femelles. Trouvé dans les forêts humides, la seconde pousse et parfois les plantations. L'appel est un «kiki-kiki-kirikiki» bruyant.

Multicolored, gregarious medium-sized woodpecker. Note black wings, tail, and mask, yellow forehead and eyering, white rump, and red belly bordered with dark bars. Males have a red crown and neck, which is black in females. Found in moist forests, second growth and sometimes plantations. The call is a loud “kiki-kiki-kirikiki”.

Conure de Vieillot / Reddish-belied parakeet / Marron bellied parakeet.

Perruche assez petite et grégaire avec une longue queue pointue. Trouvé principalement dans les forêts, y compris les forêts d'Araucaria et même dans les grands parcs urbains. Salopette verte avec une bande frontale rouillée, un ventre et une sous-queue marron et une poitrine écaillée. Son motif de visage est généralement assez indistinct, mais notez des plaques d'oreille chamois, un cercle oculaire blanc et un bec sombre. Des sexes similaires.

Fairly small and gregarious parakeet with a long pointed tail. Found mainly in forests, including Araucaria forests and even in large urban parks. Green overall with a rusty frontal band, a maroon belly and undertail, and a scaled breast. Its face pattern is generally quite indistinct, but note buffy ear patches, white eyering, and dark bill. Sexes similar.

Calliste à tête verte / Green-headed tanager / Tangara seledon

Le tangara à tête verte est un oiseau trouvé dans la forêt atlantique au sud-est du Brésil, à l'extrême est du Paraguay et à l'extrême nord-est de l'Argentine. Comme d'autres membres du genre Tangara, c'est un petit oiseau coloré, mesurant en moyenne 13,5 centimètres (5,3 pouces). Bien qu'il soit essentiellement un oiseau de forêts humides, il est également commun dans les vergers et les parcs [2], où il se déplace à travers la canopée, se faisant discret, car sa coloration bleu-vert apparemment flashy le camoufle bien parmi le feuillage.

The green-headed tanager is a bird found in the Atlantic forest in south-eastern Brazil, far eastern Paraguay, and far north-eastern Argentina. Hi Folks,

Due to the rain I was playing in-house with LUNA and ARCTY - but our furs were soaked wet from our previous playing session outside. While we were playing in the hall SHE came and said something like - “Hang On. You make everything wet here in the hall with your wet furs!” -

We thought - “Hang on ?” - but where should we hang ourselves on? That’s why we hurried upstairs and found the banister where we could possibly hang to get dry. It worked well, the water was dripping out of our furs and landed downstairs where it was already wet, anyway !

- But here we hung, and hung and hung – it lasted quite some time until we were dry and then had to wait for HER command to come down again …..

Reddish-belied parakeet / Marron bellied parakeet / Pyrrhura frontalis

Perruche assez petite et grégaire avec une longue queue pointue. Trouvé principalement dans les forêts, y compris les forêts d'Araucaria et même dans les grands parcs urbains. Salopette verte avec une bande frontale rouillée, un ventre et une sous-queue marron et une poitrine écaillée. Son motif de visage est généralement assez indistinct, mais notez des plaques d'oreille chamois, un cercle oculaire blanc et un bec sombre. Des sexes similaires.

Fairly small and gregarious parakeet with a long pointed tail. Found mainly in forests, including Araucaria forests and even in large urban parks. Green overall with a rusty frontal band, a maroon belly and undertail, and a scaled breast. Its face pattern is generally quite indistinct, but note buffy ear patches, white eyering, and dark bill. Sexes similar.
