This month I shall be combining a piece of "mainly" British Folk Music with an Image "Stolen" from the Street, or a Museum. or some other "Godforsaken" place.!
Most of the music dates back to the 1970s, some is well know, some is not well know and some is downright weird.!!!!!!!!
This is purely an indulgence, on my part of course, but during this exercise I discovered some great stuff my Grandfather had forgot to tell me about.
ALL the music and all the videos are taken from YOUTUBE.
I will also include a WIKI Bio of the Artists.....History is such an interesting and sad thing...........
Hope you like this little "August Frippery"

Wishing you a very good month of August. With my own calendar- the photo is from 2022 on Vancouver Island.
Bon mois d'août à vous tous. La photo de mon calendrier est de 2022 sur l'ile de Vancouver ( Pacific Ocean)
I haven't really spotted a pileated woodpecker in the neighbourhood since May. I hear them once in a while but they don't seem to be too interested in modeling.
Well, I was fortunate today! Not one, not two, but three pileated woodpeckers showed up in the backyard and at least one was not camera shy and posed for a few photos.
Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

I've decided to try and pick my favourite photos posted each month and will then pick one from each month at the end of the year.
This is August.
Once the full green of early Summer wanes, the warmer colours of Autumn come to the grasses that flower by June and set seed by July. In August, the spent remains turn a warmer colour
Left my photo until later in the day but as it turned out all was not lost and I was able to snap a shot of these beetles on their way to cause chaos on the ferns.
Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

“When my eyes are weeds,
And my lips are petals, spinning
Down the wind that has beginning
Where the crumpled beeches start
In a fringe of salty reeds;
When my arms are elder-bushes,
And the rangy lilac pushes
Upward, upward through my heart;
Summer, do your worst!
Light your tinsel moon, and call on
Your performing stars to fall on
Headlong through your paper sky;
Nevermore shall I be cursed
By a flushed and amorous slattern,
With her dusty laces' pattern
Trailing, as she straggles by.”
