中華製の激安な小型デジタルアンプMUSE AUDIO製M21 EX2に接続するスピーカーケーブルとして、オーディオテクニカ製AT6158を選択。オーディオテクニカいわく「中低域に量感があるのでバランスがよく力強い音質」だそうで。1mあたり定価でも525円、ヨドバシカメラでは僅か370円の安ケーブルですが、φ0.12ｍｍ×238本撚りなので計算するとスケア(断面積)は2.69sqとなります。
スピーカーケーブルは音質を左右する大きな要因の為、それこそ1mあたり数百円のモノから数千円のモノまでピンキリで、ナニを判断基準にすべきか迷います。私が参考にしたのは以下のサイト↓

これによると、1sq/mを超えたあたりから変化率は皆無となることから、1mあたり1sq以上という結論を出しています。なるほど、これは面白い。
今回、この小さなオーディオ環境で必要としているケーブル長は片側僅か0.5m・・・と言うことは、安ケーブルAT6158でもオーバーキャパシティだったりします（笑）。
・・・さて、肝心の音質を言いますと、うーん、前のテキトーな100円ケーブルとの違いは分かりませんな（苦笑）。

Sh♡wn got me an Audio-Technica Turntable for Christmas. Now once again I can play my very first punk rock record ":30 OVER DC" that I got from WGTB in 1978 while in the Navy.
I have 101 - 12" LPs and several EPs that have survived from way back when. They're all in great condition.

Here my new AT33 in an older head shell, the AT-MS11. It fits perfectly in the head shell. The shell is made of magnesium and weights only 10,6g.

Since I bought the Disney Frozen Soundtrack Deluxe Vinyl Record Album, I've been wanting to actually play it on a turntable. So I bought the Audio-Technica LP-60 Automatic Turntable from Amazon, and just finished assembling it and connecting it to my Sony Blu-ray player. It sounds great, but I have yet to compare it with the sound of the CD version of the soundtrack, or to the Blu-ray movie sound. I'm just glad I finally have a turntable so I can play LP records. So far I have a collection of exactly one LP album, Frozen. But I intend to get some more.

Perched on the hot shoe is a Audio-Technica PRO 24-CM stereo microphone. This mic sells for around USD70.00 at all the usual suspects. I found it's about the cheapest "quality sound" way to go...some shotgun mics for serious videographers (I am not) can go for hundreds of dollars.
On paper it has a decent frequency response (100-17,000Hz) and in my very preliminary tests, the sound quality is pretty good, surpassing that of the internal mic, and of course, it provides true stereo. It also comes with a black foam windscreen, not shown here. It's battery-powered (1.5V LR44). One nit I have is that I wish it had a tiny indicator "on-off" light as I have already forgotten to turn it on, and it would be a good check to make sure it's off when you're done recording. The mic also comes with a protective padded pouch for storage when not in use.

These are latest version of the Audio-Technica Professional Studio Monitor Headphones. They are now listed as ATH-M50x, so I guess the additional "x" must mean "excellent". Well, It does seem the guys in Japan have managed to improve on perfection for what is an industry standard.
This model now comes with 3 interchangeable connection cables for various scenarios and the sharp eyed audiophiles out there will have noticed that this coiled cable is not properly locked into position. That's because they had just arrived while I was doing the Hobgoblin pic, so I whipped them out of the box for a quick shot while I was rigged up for the bottle.
Strobist: 3 Speedlites, all on manual - Canon 580EXII camera left and YN565EX camera right both mounted inside 50x70cm soft boxes. Then, to add more golden/orange light, a Yongnuo YN565EXII gelled with a Full CTO was placed below level of glass base angled up at 45deg to light the gold reflector back drop. All triggered by Yongnuo YN-622C Wireless, controlled from menu on back of the EOS7D fitted with the old nifty fifty, "Plastic Fantasic" EF50mm f/1.8 II cheapo lens.

The current setup of my work desktop. The laptop is running Windows XP in dual-display mode with the center monitor as the primary head. Yes, I have the laptop itself act as monitor #2, which seems to have the side-effect that maximized windows on monitor #1 will expand over the start bar.
The right-most display is my Linux box (Ubuntu), which the keyboard and mouse are plugged into. I use x2vnc to control the mouse cursor on the Windows box. Whenever x2vnc isn't working, I just use the laptop's built-in keyboard.

Taken on my white background in my "Studio" that I use for my eBay listings. It is just two pieces of white poster board and the Flashpoint 2 fluorescent light kit.
The newest addition to my mic locker: The Audio Technica AT4033a LDC microphone which I bought off eBay for $125. Also pictured is the Samson SP01 Shockmount which is meant for Samson's line of LDC mics but since the $80 price tag of Audio Technica's shockmount is a little much I went for the SP01 which only cost my $25. The mic fits in the mount but there are no threads holding it in so with a little modification the mic will now not fall out. I plan on upgrading to a nicer shockmount once I get the money. I will be posting some recording on my SoundCloud when I get a chance.
