It's a record from Masahiko Togashi (Denon record label).

Can't remember the powers they were at lol.

Decided to the try the new LP-120X. The issues with the previous model have been solved with this new one. It's now a great entry level table, with a stylus that can be upgraded. I get W&F measurement of 0.09%, which is much better than the spec of 0.2%.

Vintage idler wheel (driven by a belt) turntable, SME 3012 and Audio Technica ATP12T tonearms with Denon DL103 MC cartridges mounted on a heavy wooden plinth.

Here a picture of my AT-ART1 MC cartridge. It's mounted in one of my Stax headshells with new AT leadwires. The acronym ART suppose to stand for "Audio Reference Transducer". The original packaging actually says "audio-technica Reference Transducer".

This one comes from Japan and when I got it, I first started cleaning the MicroLinear diamond tip. Then, a maker/designer of phono cartridges, made it playable again. The rubber suspension is a bit rigid, since it's now 20 years after it's production. He gave it a little bit more "freedom" with "pulling" it a bit out. You hardly can call it pulling, since the cantilever is made of a hollow boron shaft, so grabbing it with a pincet would most likely crush it. He also aligned the cantilever, so that the coils are no longer be able to make a short circuit.

The cartridge is playable again now and sounds quite good actually.

This is one of my 2 currently still working headphones. The other one is purple Superlux. This one in the picture is my favorite cans. +Min Seaman got me this audio-technica Pro5 MkII from Jaben Malaysia a year ago. Frankly speaking, after listening to headphones, music don't sound the same through ear-buds anymore.

If there's something else I like other than camera, it would be my headphones and my portable media player. I have a lousy plastic piece of Sony Walkman who still does the job damn fine. I hope one day I can pair this headphones with a iPod classic and a Fiio Andes dac/amp. This two items have been in my wishlist for the longest time now. I'm one of those guys who still thinks iPod Classic rocks.

With its ergonomically moulded earpiece and unobtrusive one-inch boom, the BP893 offers inconspicuous placement along with clear, consistent voice pickup. Its extended frequency response provides natural sound reproduction and its lightweight; low-profile design and ease of use make the microphone ideal for use in theatrical performances, houses of worship and broadcast studios.

The BP893 is positioned unobtrusively over either ear. Its omnidirectional miniature condenser capsule offers outstanding pickup tailored for crystal-clear vocal reproduction, similar to that of a high-quality lavalier microphone. The mic is also ideal for use in violin pickup – violinists should simply wear the BP893 over the ear as usual, and there is no need for clamps on the violin.

The microphone includes a 1.4-metre permanently attached miniature cable. Its free end connects to the provided AT8539 power module via a locking four-pin connector. The connector is also compatible with all A-T UniPak body-pack transmitters. The output of the power module is a three-pin XLRM-type connector.

The microphone requires 11V to 52V phantom power for operation. A recessed switch in the power module permits the choice of flat response or low-frequency roll-off (via the integral 80-Hz high-pass UniSteep filter) to help control undesired ambient noise. The BP893 comes equipped with a power module, a cable clip, two windscreens, two element covers, a moisture guard, a belt clip and a protective carrying case. The microphone is available in both black and theatre beige

The microphone is also available in a variety of wireless models, including the BP893cW. The BP893cW includes a 55-inch (1.4-metre) permanently attached miniature cable terminated with a locking four-pin connector for use with Audio-Technica UniPak body-pack transmitters. Models are also available in a variety of terminations for use with many other manufacturers’ wireless systems (see below). No power module or belt clip is required with the wireless models. The wireless models’ dimensions, polar pattern and included accessories are otherwise identical to those of the BP893.

Designed for use as a high-quality talk-back, paging and dispatch microphone in entertainment, commercial and industrial applications, the U855QL’s versatile design allows for flexible positioning and dependable performance.

The new model’s low-profile element provides a uniform cardioid polar pattern with 120-degree acceptance angle, while tailored frequency response ensures excellent isolation and intelligibility in environments with excessive ambient noise. An XLRM-type connector insert at the base allows the microphone to be plugged directly into an XLRF-type panel jack or microphone cable.

That will have to change

I recently changed my trusty Ortofon Kontrapunkt A for a humble Audio Technica AT150mlx. (Can't be too careful now that The LIttle One is starting to take an interest in everything!) Whilst I was at it, I also changed my phono stage for a Croft RIAA.

I am delighted with the results. I've always had a thing for Audio Technica carts and this certainly doesn't disappoint. It has a lovely airy, transparent and pure sound that is fleet-of-foot. Not one for those looking for a 'romantic' sound, but it's presentation suits me just fine. I hope they never stop making these!
