A Five-Year Photographic Journey with the M4/3 Series.
My most used lenses and equipment, the other lenses, bodies and equipment are not used as much as these.
The reason for the SB-800 is for backup and for OCF use with CLS/AWL and backup for the SB-910. My D7000 also is not pictured which I use as a backup along with my older D90 and other primes aka 24mm,35mm, 50mm,100mm,flashes etc.

Alright, this one is for the technology and photo gear afficionados....
This is my latest new challenge: learn to master the video and sound capabilities of the Nikon D300s. I have been shooting with my Sony Z1U video camera for years HD movies (1080i 60fps) but never dared switching to DSLR.
After reading several forums of people much more informed than I was, I ended up with the following configuration:
- Audio Technica AT4073a shotgun microphone (reuse from my Sony Z1U semi pro video camera)
- Beachteck DXA-5D DSLR XLR adapter (necessary to provide the required 48mm phantom power to the shotgun microphone and mix the mono sound coming out of the Audio Technica mike into both Left and Right channels of the stereo input of the Nikon D300s).
- Rode shock Mount SM3 in order to isolate the vibration on my tripod and camera body from the microphone itself (every single noise created by your fingers touching the nikon body or the lens focusing in AF mode is picked up by the uselss built-in microphone of the D300s).
- Manfrotto 701RC2 video head in order to have a smooth panning capability
- Gitzo Tripod Studex G320
- Lens Zoom Vario-Elmar Leica 35-70mm f/4. The use of manual focus is preferable as the AF function of the live view mode of the D300s is not very fast nor accurate. Plus I am not interested to hear the noisy motor of the Nikon AF-S lenses.
I am just a pure beginner at the time being and am still learning the pitfalls of using a DSLR for shooting a video in high definition HD 720p.
If you have experience on shooting Nikon DSLR videos and can provide me with tips you have learned through forums or first hand experience, feel free to leave a comment here. I am always eager to learn new techniques and improve myself.
This photo was taken with Nikon D700 and Zeiss 100mm f/2 ZF with flash SB900. Parameters are ISO 1600 f/4.0 at 1/60s.

Less than a week ago I was standing in the spot where that album cover photo was taken, taking a photo of the same door...

These are the mics I currently use for shooting video with the Canon EOS 7D.
Pictured:
* RODE VideoMic (great little shotgun-style mic with 3.5mm jack)
* Audio Technica ATR-3350 Lavalier Condenser Mic (wired) (this can be a noisy mic, but for $30 it does an okay job)
It'll probably be worth it to spring for a Zoom H4n 4-Track Recorder down the road.

Can it now compete with the legendary Technics SL-1200MK2? NOPE. This project was for educational purposes only and is not recommended. The end results are great, but the cost to mod the 120 could have been spent on a real 1200MK2 which is superior in every way.
If AT could rectify 4 problems with the LP120USB, then it would be a great entry level table for home use. 1 is make the antiskate work. 2, lower the arm assembly so VTA can be properly adjusted. 3, include a rubber mat to reduce platter noise and vibration. 4, get the W&F down by half.
2002 audio-technica turntable Model AT PL50
Twenty year old record player found at an estate sale for $20.00
It’s in very good condition. Works & sounds good, but I ordered a new needle just to be on the safe side.
The Audio-Technica will replace my 2003 Pioneer PL600 that died in 2020 due to a dead servo-motor.
2018 was the 50th Anniversary of the Steve McQueen movie ‘Bullitt” so in honor of it a new 50th Anniversary ‘Bullitt Soundtrack’ LP on Limited Edition Orange Vinyl was released. A decal on the record jacket reads: A Barnes & Noble Exclusive.
Music composed and conducted by Lalo Schifrin. The original 1968 LP was also offered on Limited Edition Orange Vinyl.
Warner Brother's # 1777
Sadly, the AT PL50 died in October 2022
Did a little upgrade to my vinyl playing capabilities today!

Audio Technica's new ATPHA100 headphone amp and multi-input/output DAC.
Having owned a number of amps, I've not been much a fan of Audio Technica's machines, but this one is quite good.
This photo is made just for a short review.
Sony A7r
Schneider 100/5,6 APO-macro Digitar Copal 0 mounted to
Novoflex BALPRO T/S
Strobist: three lights: one trigger to ceiling, two large Profoto softboxes, one behind, one fore, to make sure the amp doesn't disappear into the background. Triggered with Flashwaves III.
Caught in the glow of green LED light, this close-up of an Audio-Technica stylus captures the tactile beauty of analog sound. Shot on Day 1 of my “100 Projects in 100 Days” challenge, the image freezes the moment just before the groove speaks. There's something timeless about vinyl—the crackle, the hiss, the warm fidelity. This photo pays tribute to the ritual of putting the needle down and letting music breathe.
