Friday night's pillow-fight in Paranoia Park. At 7:45, the park was empty... by 8pm, there was maybe 100+ kids with pillows, some in costumes, going at it. It was dark, fast, and dirty... not the ideal shooting conditions, but I got to put the camera away and swing away with a pair of pillows. There was a Santa, a ninja, superman, toga-boy, and several cowboys & cowgirls. Madness. But no one got hurt, as far as I could tell, which was impressive... it was a fantastic example of cooperative chaos.

A Wee small photoshoot for two lovely girls cosplaying from outlaw star. Always good to work with old models that can help first time models. Wee Jo was a bit unused to the camera and posing but Emma helped her. I can't wait to work with you again!!
At dawn the ridge emerges massed and dun
In the wild purple of the glow'ring sun,
Smouldering through spouts of drifting smoke that shroud
The menacing scarred slope; and, one by one,
Tanks creep and topple forward to the wire.
The barrage roars and lifts. Then, clumsily bowed
With bombs and guns and shovels and battle-gear,
Men jostle and climb to, meet the bristling fire.
Lines of grey, muttering faces, masked with fear,
They leave their trenches, going over the top,
While time ticks blank and busy on their wrists,
And hope, with furtive eyes and grappling fists,
Flounders in mud. O Jesus, make it stop!

Some people went to extremes to get their hits in. Dual wielding pillows were not uncommon. Others took to higher ground by standing on garbage cans, or sitting on shoulders. This guy stole pillows while conducting his aerial assults!

On August 1, 2011 the Military Police teamed up with Central Security Forces and Special Forces to break up Tahrir square sit-in that lasted for 3 weeks. They attacked peaceful protestors with batons and arrested many of them. Worth mentioning: they smashed all the tents and protestors stuff as well.

This silver alien/monster statue was installed a few days ago in Toronto's Distillery District, at the west end - you really should check it out, it's amazing.
I shot this at night and zoomed the lens for a second to give it an attacking feel.

This plaque on the Seattle Waterfront marks the site of the 1856 Battle of Seattle in which Native Americans attacked the local settlement in what is now the Pioneer Square neighborhood of Seattle. The battle was part of the larger Puget Sound War which was essentially a battle over territory, as of course were most wars between Native Americans and settlers. In retrospect, it's hard not to root for the Native Americans.
