Massive Attack - October 6, 2006 - The Carlu, Toronto.
I saw Massive Attack live at the Carlu last night in Toronto. Absolutely fantastic show.
This is Deborah Miller, who took over the parts that Shara Nelson sung on the studio tracks. I think I took this during Unfinished Sympathy but I can't really remember.
Taliban prisoners wrap themselves with blue blankets inside their cell at Shiberghan prison, about 100 kms west of the city of Mazar-i-Sharif in northern Afghanistan February 12, 2002. Some 3,300 forgotten prisoners from the United States war on terror are locked in this prison in very poor conditions. Unwanted by the U.S. because they were not important enough in the Taliban or Al Qaeda hierarchy, they have been left to literally rot away in prison built for 800 inmates while the authorities decide what to do with them. When I was snow shoeing through the Fells after the blizzard, I headed back to the area where I photographed the stream a few weeks ago. Parts of the stream were showing, but most of it was hidden under the snow.
When I was hiking over to a spot with a good view of the stream flowing into Quarter Mile Pond, I mis-guessed where the stream was flowing, I stepped down, and the ground disappeared out from under me, and found myself standing in the stream, with one foot stuck on top of the other. All the way to the bottom of two feet of snow
It took me a couple minutes to figure out how to free myself, but after I did, I grabbed this shot while laughing at myself how dumb I was.
I'll get the photo I was trying to take uploaded tomorrow.
Jared kept egging on Danny to get him to show us all his dance moves. He believes any activity can become a dance, so Jared kept coming up with the weirdest stuff for him to try...I present to you, "the bear attack dance"!
An off-leash pit bull ran up to my dog and bit him in the face for no reason. The owners at first acted like it wasn't their dog. Next, they pretended they don't speak English. They're lucky I'm not litigious.
