This one was pretty funny. There were several pigeons snacking away. I took a bunch of boring pictures of them while waiting for something exciting to happen. I eventually gave up and began packing up my camera. Just then the dog in the background (left) started barking and running down to the group. I quickly whipped up the camera again and didn't get a chance to adjust anything. I barely had time to look in the viewfinder. Thank god for high FPS!
I think that was a very rare moment in wild life, and I was lucky to catch it on camera. Unfortunately, I have had only 50/1.4 lens attached to the camera at that moment. This is 100% crop from the image center.
She looks so mean here, it's hilarious. She thinks she's so bad-ass.
(Not the best framing job, but you try capturing this crazy thing when she's leaping off of couches and knocking into things.)
We regularly sic her on the laser pointer but when Lizz started spraying down the tarp, she found new prey to attack

I love what flamingos represent in the same way I am an athiest that "believes" in luck.
There's always a part of people that wants to have something nice and not dirty or used or scratched or alive. There is a place for the plastic in our lives, otherwise I don't suppose they'd be so very sucessful.
The Keys give me that feeling in the actual Florida, but if you look closely, the brightly painted signs have been battered by summer storms so they're cracked and worn and faded up front.
A pink plastic flamingo is a thing that should not be, yet there it is.
One angry white goose. It may be blurred, but it shows how angry the goose was!

A quattro anni di distanza dall’ultimo tour italiano, è tornata dal vivo una delle band più innovative e carismatiche del panorama musicale internazionale: Massive Attack
I was on a morning kayak paddle with a photographer friend on a quiet river. He paused to shoot some pretty day lilies near the shore and was surprise attacked--twice--by an otter. Perhaps his kayak got between a parent and the little ones. We usually think of river otters as cute and playful. (Yes, he went to ER and is getting rabies shots as a precaution.) Otters or bears. Don't get between them and their babies! Choptank River. Maryland's Eastern Shore.
