The cubs are now almost 4 months old... they change every time I see them. On this latest visit it seems as if they've taken the 'attack mode' to a whole new level!
Regular visitors to my photostream will know that I have a fascination with the population of wild and free Australian black swans at La Trobe Uni.
This swan is an enraged parent - launching an attack on a couple of much smaller waterbirds, whose only crime was to go too close to the two baby swans, just out of picture.
It was stunningly quick - over in seconds, but he got his point across!

The Black Swan (Cygnus atratus) is a large waterbird, which breeds mainly in the southeast and southwest regions of Australia.
Black Swans are mostly black-feathered birds, with a line of white flight feathers of the wing edges that sometimes show when at rest, and are conspicuous in flight. The bill is bright red, with a pale bar and tip; and legs and feet are greyish-black. Cobs (males) are slightly larger than pens (females), with a longer and straighter bill. Cygnets (immature birds) are a greyish-brown with pale-edged feathers
A mature Black Swan measures between 110 and 142 cm (43-56 in) in length and weighs 3.7-9 kg (8.1-20 lbs). Its wing span is between 1.6 and 2 metres (5.3-6.5 ft. The neck is long (relatively the longest neck among the swans) and curved in an "S".
The Black Swan utters a musical and far reaching bugle-like sound, called either on the water or in flight, as well as a range of softer crooning notes. It can also whistle, especially when disturbed while breeding and nesting.

Our beloved family dog was aiming to take me out during a round of frisbee! When I looked at this shot I wondered if this is what a dog looks like before it attacks? I've never been attacked but I have run past my share of not so friendly dogs. Usually I don't stick around to find out. Anyway my wife threw the frisbee at me by accident, at least I think it was by accident, and the pooch was so focused on the thing he ran right into me after the frisbee hit the lens. Thank goodness the shade was on.
So I finished these cute moths last night and woke up this morning to find the hoop attacked by cats. I'm hoping I can save this, I wanted to use this in an insect themed quitl.

This shooting was at Harborland in Kobe in I would say the most unappropriate time for taking portrait pictures, sun was high above and almost no shadows to hide. After it finished we took some more pictures in the night.
It's really tough to shoot when there are so many people shooting at the same time, attracting the attention of the model, I prefer much more being the only one to take pictures! You can see what I mean in THIS PICTURE: CLICK! Crazy people, huh?!~
I can imagine how the model feels surrounded in this way, hehe~ ;)

An entry for Loreos' LC3 on Classic-Castle.
A band of outlaws from the southern lands are sailing up Roawia's eastern coast in multiple light, swift vessels to raid the people of Loreos. This particular band are commonly known as the Grimson Skull, and are made up of Orks, Trolls, fell men and various outcast creatures, rejected by the three provinces. Here we see them launching a surprise attack on the small fortified post of Bardurk, Where the Loreesi soldiers rush to the beach to fight the outlaws in hand-to-hand combat. After all, Captain Lancorv, commander in charge of Bardurk, doesn't believe in firing arrows from the safety of his fortification's walls, he fights, as he puts it, "like a true Loreesi".
Western Gull Attack Video - I took this video down by the bay the day before yesterday. I was observing two Western Gulls (large gulls) foraging and making a lot of noise. One of the gulls got too close to the other while searching for food and a fight broke out. What was interesting to me was an immature (juvenile) Gull, obviously upset about the argument, stepped in to break the two adult gulls apart. They separated, calmed down, and went on foraging together as if nothing ever happend!
