Fellow flickrite steve_cx plays guitar in "The Atomic Rays". Here they are in action at the Cat & Wheel on Cheltenham Road in Bristol on Friday night. Poor light and a crush of people dancing at the front made photography tricky, but the music made up for that.

I ripped out the original liner and replaced it with foam covered with charcoal grey felt, added chrome feet, and sewed a pillow (blue polka dots - the lighting is bad in this picture) to go inside!

Atomic Films out of Chattanooga hired me to help out on a video for UT here in Knoxville. They brought up a grip truck and a RED. The shoot was quick and easy. Just a little B-roll of Ayers Hall, then we shot an interview in Neyland Stadium. Just a little while after we got started they went ahead and booked me for a shoot at the YMCA in Chattanooga. That was also an interesting day. I look forward to working with Atomic Films in the future.

Back when it was first located at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque. Later it relocated to Old Town Albuquerque. Now called the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History, it can be found near the northern edge of Kirtland.

After the initial photo shoot with the gas mask, I decided to paint it and make it my own.

The Atomic Bomb Dome opposite the Aioi River. The building was the closest structure to survive the blast which was almost directly above the dome at a distance of approximately 100 meters south and 600 meters above ground. The intended target for the atomic bomb was the Aioi bridge in the background.

Every year on the anniversary of the bomb, a ceremony is held at the park. Speeches are made, wreathes are laid at the Cenotaph, and a moment of silence is observed at 8:15 am, the precise moment of detonation. Other activities occur throughout the day, and many staff are employed to help foreign visitors.

I wish that many people do not repeat the same mistake.

The April 12, 1981 launch at Pad 39A of STS-1, just seconds past 7 a.m., carries astronauts John Young and Robert Crippen into an Earth orbital mission scheduled to last for 54 hours, ending with unpowered landing at Edwards Air Force Base in California.

The Atomic Bomb Dome, part of Hiroshima Peace Memorial. This building, was almost directly under the explosion of "Little Boy" dropped by the Enola Gay, the world's first atomic bomb. The building's location spared its demise, whereas the rest of the town was leveled.
