Atom Bomb. In case you're unfamiliar with this firework, it's a £20 single rocket. It's also a category 4 (display quality) firework that literally engulfs the sky with light. Here, we grounded it and ran off. The camera was set up 45 meters away which I thought would be enough to capture it all, but I was clearly wrong. 100+ meters would've got it all in I reckon. Unedited.
Inside the Atom at Wycoller. Gave HDR a bash, maybe abit too over processed, very windy day so the clouds where ghosting alot.
I pulled into Fleet Services on the M3 while on my way to visit a friend in Bournemouth. Here I approached Martin who is from Lowestoft in Suffolk UK. He was on his way to Crewkerne in Somerset for the 10th year celebration event of this car. He was accompanied by some fellow members of the Ariel Atom’s owners club. Ariel was once a motorcycle company but now make this fantastic car which was once featured by Jeremy Clarkson on Top Gear whose face took on a very comical quality due this car’s phenomenal acceleration.

"The Mighty Atom!" - A celebration of the mighty atom! Everything - you, me, that cactus over there, those chilies, the stars - everything is made of atoms (the smallest recognised division of a chemical element). They may be small but they are surely mighty! We now know that atoms don't really look like the classic atom symbol reproduced here, the electrons are more like a cloud surrounding the nucleus, but it's a classic for a reason. Here we have a purple decorated skull representing the nucleus, encased by orbiting electrons. Surrounding this are cacti, chilies and stars. Although unframed, all 4 edges of the canvas are painted allowing the work to be displayed as is. 26cm x 20cm x 1.5cm (approx.) Acrylic on unframed canvas.

Pendle's Panopticon, 'Atom', rests on the hillside above Wycoller village in Wycoller Country Park. Constructed in ferro-cement with a surface coating of metal-based paint, it is both a striking contemporary viewing point and shelter from which to enjoy Pendle's glorious scenery, and an intriguing and beautiful object which can be viewed from afar. From inside, its circular viewing spaces frame spectacular views of the surrounding countryside, and an initially hidden, polished steel ball reflects back those views to the visitor.
