[2021/12/09 09:52] William: stand for me?
[2021/12/09 09:53] Mara Telling: sure ... give me 5 minutes, ok?
it was a 2 hour session... and it was like being inside a real-time piece of art. lights and colors changin' ... glow ... letters appearing ... a metal sphere ... artful "accidents" ... almost philosophical
by slightly moving the mouse ... everything changed .. things and moods appearing/disappearing. magic
for a long time we didn't speak at all. I was just watching and zooming and being in awe.
from time to time he said things like: "see that?"
and: "phototools > choose "Midnight" .... then DoF/Glow tab .. set the strength of glow to zero" ...
and everything changed again.
learning ... changing points of view... evolving ...
these pics are unedited (just cropped). what you see is what I saw... what you see is what I was allowed to experience
it's all from the firestorm viewer and a genius' creative soul
William .... *smile* ... thank you!!
Info: a couple of years ago William published some tutorials on SL photography on Youtube. since the viewer changed you might have to adapt some things .. but to me it's a constant source of knowledge and inspiration. you might wanna check out William's channel
La hormiga atómica. Es increíble la fuerza y capacidad de trabajo en grupo que tienen las hormigas. Los seres humanos tenemos mucho que aprender de estos pequeños insectos.

Sadly, there was originally a polished steel sphere within Atom that reflected the entering light, but this was stolen in 2012, leaving just a stump.
Made him a long time ago... think I started on him back when the first photo of the atom suit for arrow was revield. I've had him done a long long time before I even got flickr but I really think he keeps up and I'm really happy with this figure.
At Singapore Chinese Garden.
After nearly a week without any picture, I bumped into this tiny bird when I went for a walk in the garden this evening. It was on the ground eating grass. When it became aware of my presence, it flew to a shady part of a nearby tree.
While waiting to see if anyone at www.inaturalist.org can tell me its ID, I nickname it "Atom Bird" as it has what appears like a superhero sign on the front part of its body. From the shape of its beak, I thought that it may be a munia species, but I have not seen too many munias to be confident of what I thought.
P.S. Someone put the ID of this bird as the white-headed munia. Earlier on, I had also thought of the possibility of it being the white-headed munia but decided to dismiss this possibility, as all images I had seen in the internet showed that the head of the white-headed munia was completely white. The one in the picture posted here was not wholly white but showed only white patches. Perhaps the "atom bird" was a juvenile white-headed munia. Yesterday I managed to find in the internet a picture that showed an apparently white-headed munia that looked similar to "atom bird".
Wat Pho, Bangkok, Thailand
"Why I came here, I know not; where I shall go it is useless to inquire - in the midst of myriads of the living and the dead worlds, stars, systems, infinity, why should I be anxious about an atom?"
Lord Byron

Une photo de mes archives avec un traitement pour l'occasion!
An older one from the archives with a bit of editing!
My biggest thanks to a very special friend of mine Lou Santani for making this absolutely stunning picture.
Last year Stella Atom was added to Bucks in Tulsa. Buck is still on the other side of the property, but now he has his lady friend alongside of him. I didn't have time to capture him on my last trip here in the fall, but I made sure to capture her this time. She is made of fiberglass and as you can see, very colorful. Across the street you can see Meadow Gold Mack. Another new addition to Route 66 in Tulsa.
After I posted a photo of some cows yesterday, Flickr member Citizen of the Galaxy commented that it reminded him of Pink Floyd's Atom Heart Mother album jacket. After I refreshed my memory of what the album looked like, it occurred to me that I took a much closer homage that same morning.
