An easy to grow cactus, a hybrid, not a true species.

Old specimen with buds, shot taken from upside. I left all my plants open air for a couple of days. They saw a considerable amount of rain that cleaned them and now they are swollen full of water, waiting for more sunshine.

My son Jack and I have a joint cactus project despite the fact we are 900 miles apart. I like to keep him posted on how things are going between his visits; hence posts like this. We are growing lots of Astrophytums and enjoy the numerous variations that are revealing themselves as they grow. These seedlings are about 9 months old. -Rob
