Our galactic neighbors lying in the Ursa Major (Big bear) constellation are 12 million light years away from us. That means the light we see today originated from these galaxies 12 million years ago.

M81 and M82 are separated from each other by 150000 light years. M81 records a diameter of 90000 light years across. M81 consists of hot young stars which were born a few million years ago which make up most of the blue emissions.

About this image. I was so busy with work and family obligations the past many weeks and I can say I lost my inspiration.

Over the weekend, I managed to go with friends all the way to a dark location in Malaysia and found a new inspiration again...

My apologies for the zero visits in your streams.

The bright beauty display of the Aurora Borealis taken from in the town of Creelman, SK.

The grain elevator complex in Creelman consists of two grain elevators joined by a common annex. The smaller elevator is a former Lake of the Woods Milling Co. grain elevator.

The Andromeda Galaxy also known as Messier 31, M31, or NGC 224, is a spiral galaxy approximately 780 kiloparsecs (2.5 million light-years) from Earth. It is the nearest major galaxy to the Milky Way.

After three cloudy nights, I returned home to Slovakia, determined to capture a once-in-80,000-years comet. On the fourth try, the skies finally cleared, and I managed to gather 30 minutes of data. It was worth the wait to photograph this fleeting celestial wonder. See you again in 80,000 years!

Tonight the moon size was huge!

A supermoon is the coincidence of a full moon or a New moon with the closest approach the Moon makes to the Earth on its elliptical orbit, resulting in the largest apparent size of the lunar disk as seen from Earth.

What is special about tonight is that the full moon of November 14, 2016 is not only the biggest, closest and brightest supermoon of this year. It’s the closest supermoon since January 26, 1948 !

volviendo de Puerto Madryn, las ganas de orinar ganaron y paramos a que cada uno haga sus necesidades. El cielo super estrellado y mis ganas de sacar una astro-foto ganaron, las cosas fluyeron y salió esta foto

NGC7000 North America Nebula

The North America Nebula, located in the Cygnus region, is a stunning celestial object. Starting last summer, I spent four nights capturing images of this nebula, totaling 11 hours of integration time. Using a MILC camera instead of a dedicated astro camera, I processed the image with natural colors to highlight its beauty.

Yes the number is 42, and its a tribute to Douglas Adams and the Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy.

Yolo-ed to Kuantan for some night starry scape. But definitely not the best date for milkyway, as Luna is high up and bright. Used Expose to the Right method to keep the details, as if treating the image with heavy light pollution.
