Traffic in Shanghai can be a killer - literally. In the more congested, central streets, one can find "crosswalk assistants", whose job is to direct pedestrian traffic.
CAMP ITAMI, Japan - Chaplains and chaplain assistants from I Corps and U.S. Army Japan (USARJ) invited U.S. Army Soldiers and Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JFSDF) service members participating in Yama Sakura 69 at Camp Itami, Japan, to learn life skills that may one day help them save a life from suicide.
Led by Army Sgt. Maj. Michael I. Bair, senior enlisted chaplain assistant, USARJ, the Dec. 8, 2015, class introduced the troops to the Ask, Care, Escort (ACE) suicide intervention program. Developed by the U.S. Army’s behavioral health experts, ACE implements effective techniques shaped by several years of research that teach Soldiers how to recognize suicidal behavior and intervene when a life threatening crisis is immenent. Bair and his team also encouraged discussion among their students by seeking solutions to help both armies overcome the stigma associated with suicide.
The collaboration between USARJ and I Corp’s chaplain teams and their Japanese counterpart supported the JGSDF’s development of a suicide prevention program similar to ACE. Since its introduction in October 2014, the number of suicides within the JGSDF ranks has decreased by 20 percent.

Honorable Heidi Shyu, Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology, and General Dennis L. Via, Army Materiel Command commanding general, visited the 401st Jan. 16-17 to see brigade operations and meet some of the people who are 401st AFSB.
About the 401st:
The 401st Army Field Support Brigade provides Soldiers, Sailors, Airman, and Marines, the tools and resources necessary to complete the mission. If they shoot, drive it, fly it, wear it, eat it or communicate with it, the 401st helps provide it. The brigade assists coalition partners with many of their logistical and sustainment needs. The brigade also handles the responsible disposition of equipment in Afghanistan to support evolving missions. We are the single link between Warfighters in the field, and working through Army Sustainment Command, we leverage Army Materiel Command’s worldwide Materiel Enterprise to develop, deliver, and sustain materiel to ensure a dominant joint force for the U.S. and our Allies.

She was my official assistant today. She kept asking me if I was going to fire her and I told her not till we were done.
She loves to help me and I sometimes I just want to GET THINGS DONE IN THIS CENTURY so I let her start them then take over. This time though, I wanted her to really appreciate all the work that is going into her bathroom so we took our time. I cut everything in and she did the rolling.
You can see in this picture how orange the first round of paint looked. I really like this color now though, it's perfect.

Medical assistants perform administrative and clinical tasks to keep the offices of physicians, podiatrists, chiropractors, and other health practitioners running smoothly. They should not be confused with Physician assistants, who examine, diagnose, and treat patients under the direct supervision of a physician. (Physician assistants are discussed elsewhere in the Handbook.)
The duties of medical assistants vary from office to office, depending on the location and size of the practice and the practitioner’s specialty. In small practices, medical assistants usually do many different kinds of tasks, handling both administrative and clinical duties and reporting directly to an office manager, physician, or other health practitioner. Those in large practices tend to specialize in a particular area, under the supervision of department administrators.
Medical assistants who perform administrative tasks have many duties. They update and file patients’ medical records, fill out insurance forms, and arrange for hospital admissions and laboratory services. They also perform tasks less specific to medical settings, such as answering telephones, greeting patients, handling correspondence, scheduling appointments, and handling billing and bookkeeping.
