Well, I ascended it by air, which was much more civilized. I am so impressed by these mountain climbers that do it for real. Those are real dudes for sure… There're a lot of mountains here in New Zealand that are huge destinations for serious mountain climbers. I understand there are a few extra challenges here because of the ice, snow, and glaciers… I know people die all the time trying to climb Mount Cook, which is not too far away from this one… those guys have some balls! (and some frozen ones!)

'Mountains have something about them that down-country flats cannot give. Perhaps it is because, like the sea, they are always changing. Sometimes they are shrouded with mist; in winter they are white; in summer, when the last snows have disappeared, they are rugged and bare. Sometimes, when storm clouds range along their jagged peaks, they look ominous; but on a fine day when the afternoon shadows turn them blue, they stir the imagination as nothing else can.'

On the night this photo was taken, I was very upset and disappointed due to the car incident that happened in my workplace. While I mind my own work at my office, one of the staff accidentally hit my vehicle at the parking area. We went to the police station to quickly sort it out. And on my way home, I stopped by the aspire and rest for a while. Out of disappointment, I just grab my gear and took a snap shot of this monument.

I recently did a fashion shoot for the women’s group I attend. I was a bit nervous as I haven’t ventured out with my camera for ages and felt a bit rusty. However they came out ok and the group were delighted with them. I did this for free. I’m doing ok ish, sorry I’ve not been on Flickr for a while, having had no new photos to post. I must try to get out more. Hope you guys are all doing well. Big hugs. 😘
A whimsical cloud hovers over a cornfield where the tops of the corn plants reach toward a deep blue sky. Cloud wisps complete the scene for a delightful sight on a mid-summer's day.

Is there success lurking behind every failure? I'd like to think this is one. My goal with this shoot was to create a passionate depiction of a curvaceous "paper sculpture" in deep red and blue. The paper colour was off and the results were way too pink for me - delete....delete...delete....until I came to this one and decided to rotate it so that my edge-on mildly curvaceous pinkish flesh-like form could do some levitation. A gratifying failure!
