Tomorrowland

Tokyo Disneyland

Some greenery, water, and spire-y goodness at dusk at Tomorrowland's main entrance in Tokyo Disneyland. It reminds me that Tomorrowland was really a conceptual art piece as much as it ever was a true "prediction" of what tomorrow would be like. None of it needed to become reality so much as it needed to create a sense of looking forward. I think even 30 year old-architecture can still point to the future.

This is taken from the hub to the right of Tomorrowland's main entrance. The building connected to this spire houses Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters while the one on its left is currently housing Captain EO.

Just a short distance from the Green-Wood Cemetery gate is this beautiful chapel. It was built in 1911 by the architectural firm Warren and Wetmore, which also designed the Grand Central Terminal (New York), the Yale Club and the New York Yacht Club.

Though situated in a cemetery, the chapel is often used for film shooting as well as weddings.

Green-Wood Cemetery (founded 1838) is both a Revolutionary War historic site (the Battle of Long Island was fought in 1776 across what is now its grounds) and a National Historic Site for the many important people buried here. The 478-acre site sits on a beautiful hilly parkland with several ponds.

They're starting them young nowadays.
