So nice to be away from all that traffic...

Aboutme

Mister and I went to a local hospital that has sunflowers and cosmos and zinnias planted in fields around it so that patients can see them from their rooms. Hope you have a wonderful day.

One of those morning where you feel grateful for your existence on this earth and only a deck chair and a cappuccino could possibly make it any better.

Thank you for passing by :)

I recently did a fashion shoot for the women’s group I attend. I was a bit nervous as I haven’t ventured out with my camera for ages and felt a bit rusty. However they came out ok and the group were delighted with them. I did this for free. I’m doing ok ish, sorry I’ve not been on Flickr for a while, having had no new photos to post. I must try to get out more. Hope you guys are all doing well. Big hugs. 😘

During the dedication service the Bishop of Tasmania, rose to deliver some words that would never be uttered today, but were reported in the local paper along these lines: “He must congratulated them upon the English-Saxon work they had displayed in their new church… It did them great credit to be able in six months to raise such a building, and with a spire pointing to heaven; let it direct their efforts there also.”

I've taken my title of this photograph from that phase: "a spire pointing to Heaven". The spire had been a bone of contention in the community, with some feeling it was a waste of money. However, it was made possible with the generosity of a Mr John Whitehead of nearby Nile, and some referred to it as "Whitehead's Folly". It still towers over the town today at 33 metres in height.
