A saturday morning explore along Tranquille Creek. Given the cold weather we've had I was a little surprised with how many fall leaves were still on the trees.
I've been in love with Aspen Trees (more even then Burr Oak trees but whatcha gonna do?) for a long, long time. Probably is, while they're great to photograph in the fall, I live about 1,000 miles east of the nearest one so... you gotta go and take what you can get.
On our run over Utah 12, we had a very cloudy day - in fact at times, when we passed over 9,000' - the clouds were below us. Backlight was not gonna happen - so - I took what I could get - which is a guarantee to return to this road until the sun shines...
Have no real clue where we were on the road when I shot this... need to buy me a camera GPS... so I can find me some more aspens.

The San Juan Mountains are a spectacular experience during the autumn months. The endless aspen groves produce a bright pallet of golden colors beneath rugged snow capped mountains.
