Hagerstown, Indiana (September 10, 2012) The new Model T Ford Museum is slated to hold its grand opening during Richmond’s Octoberfest on September 28 at 6 p.m. The museum which was previously located in Centerville, Indiana near the Warm Glow Candle Factory for 5 years moved just a few miles east to Richmond, Indiana’s Historical Depot District this past spring.
Since the move to Richmond volunteers have been steadily preparing the museum’s new home, displays and vehicles for the event.
Today, a photo shoot for the Model T Museum’s newly acquired 1930 Pietenpol Sky Scout was held at the Hagerstown Airport.
The plan arrived at the airport around 10:00 a.m. this morning and was assembled by Model T enthusiasts and many of them brought their own Model Ts to use during the photo shoot.
One of the people there today was Mr. Jay Klehfoth who is the CEO and publisher of the Vintage Ford Magazine.
Jay is a walking encyclopedia when it comes to all things Model T. I was to learn he’s pretty knowledgeable in a lot of areas too. During our walk around of the plane Jay pointed out one of the parts for the engine had been made by a former factory in Richmond of all places. And there are many other special things about this airplane I’m sure he’ll be writing about in the next issue of the the Vintage Ford Magazine. He not only knew a lot about the Pietenpol Sky Scout plane that was being photographed for the magazine cover. He’s pretty sharp when it comes to airports too. He said that the Hagerstown airport were today’s photo shoot was done has the longest grass landing strip in the United States which to me made it the perfect place for today’s event.
This Pietenpol that will be on display at the museum is powered by a 20 HP Model T engine which was modified to include dual-ignition which is used in aviation. According to an article in the AntiqueAirfield.com website from September 10, 2012 there was only one original Pietenpol Sky Scout built by Bernard Pietenpol himself, and just two replicas. The article also said that all 3 were still flying.
The new Model T Ford Museum is going to be an exciting addition to what is one of Indiana’s grandest historical areas and a must in this part of the Midwest.
Richmond is a perfect place for any day trip. But, if you want to see all that Richmond has to offer you’ll need to plan on staying several days.

People favourably respond to Change
Generally speaking, people don't change for the better when criticized. But they do respond favourably to praise.
Huaxi Cun is not the worst place in China, and it has been following and sometimes leading the objectives and trends of the government and Chinese people - first it was to get rich - and clean up the mess later. We did this in the West on our own schedule, some Chinese are doing it now under the generally hypocritical pressure of the global community.

An aspirational monument - if you choose to see it that way..
When I was invited to Huaxi Cun for the inauguration of the “Village in the Sky”, (www.tudou.com/programs/view/05XpJXkiNwI/ ) I spoke of the new tower as a beacon for all to see, not in terms of opulence and excess, but as a towering 3 element "Symbol of Sustainability" - an aspirational symbol rising above all else - including the cookie-cutter villas, the grubby factories, the money focus and the faux world landmarks - to shock and awe viewers into realizing that all monuments have a message – and this one should inspire people to make the connection between Heaven, Earth and the People (Tian, Di, Ren 天地人) and that to achieve Wu Renbao’s “Heaven on Earth”… the Triple-Bottom-Line balance between Society, Environment and Economy （社会,环境,经济）must become Huaxi’s new ethic.

"Now that Huaxi village is rich, what's next?"
Following my presentation, the new building’s architect Ma Xusheng, in turn praised my interpretation of his building’s design, saying that no one had thought of it before, but that “with your new ‘Society, Environment, Economy ‘meaning attached, our building is even richer”.
At a private dinner with village leaders the evening before, I had shamelessly asked: “Now that Huaxi village is rich, what’s next?” – hoping to encourage them to expound on how they were going to share Huaxi’s wealth and expertise with other communities and to build sustainable enterprises based on a model ecological civilisation… however the response was understandable, as a bit more thinking is required; and considering most people’s focus was still on showing off and celebrating what they have achieved so far, the answer was a simple “Gambei!”

Ronacher Theater
The Ronacher, earlier Etablissement Ronacher, is a theater in the first Viennese district Innere Stadt, located between Himmelpfortgasse, Seilerstätte and Schellinggasse. It forms together with the Raimund Theater and the Theater an der Wien the venues of the United Stages of Vienna and via the Vienna Holding to nearly 100 per cent owned by the City of Vienna (Rudolf Klausnitzer holds a minority interest ).

It was initially as Vienna municipal theater from 1871 to 1872 by the architects Ferdinand Fellner the Elder and Ferdinand Fellner the Younger for a private Ltd. of journalist Max Friedlander and theater playwright and conductor Heinrich Laube built. The two with it wanted to establish that a bourgeois theater which - without censorship - should compete against the imperial court theaters. The house was opened on 15 September 1872 with Schiller's Demetrius in a revion of Laube. Twelve years after the opening the house burned on 16 May 1884 down. Since the building is not free on all four sides, a reconstruction as a playhouse was not admitted because of the fire protection regulations valid in the meantime. 1886 Anton Ronacher bought the burnt-out ruins and had in turn by Ferdinand Fellner the Younger (who had meanwhile founded the office Fellner & Helmer) 1887-1888 on it build a concert hall and ballroom. The wall paintings were pictured by Eduard Veith. The main staircase was built with steps from Kaisersteinbruch. The new variety theater was attached a large ballroom and a hotel, in addition, it could already use electric light, contained promenades and a conservatory.
The new Ronacher was no playhouse but equipped with tables and chairs. During the performance was allowed to drink, to eat and to smoke. Due to the poor economic situation, however, Ronacher had to give up the house later. From 1890 appeared more often artists what increasingly attracted suburban population and was frighten away the aristocracy. Later, the program was supplemented by revues, operettas, dance and vocal performances. The house was in the process again and again rebuilt and adapted to the needs of modern vaudeville operation (1901, 1906 and ongoing 1907-1916; always by Ferdinand Fellner the Younger).
After the Anschluss in 1938, the theater by linearization (Aryanisation) passed over from its previous owner Samuel Schöngut, who then died in a concentration camp, to Bernhard Labriola.
After the Second World War was the Ronacher to 1955 alternative stage for the by bombs damaged Burgtheater. Then appeared again vaudeville artists before 1960 Austrian television used the premises for TV productions. After a ten-year vacancy, in 1986 for the first time the performance of an operetta took place, this time Cagliostro in Vienna of Johann Strauss (son). 1987 bought the United Stages of Vienna the house and performed the musical Cats and two operas. An architectural competition resulted in 1987 as a winning project a "deconstructivistic" increase. The project of Coop Himmelblau was however target of fierce public criticism and was in August 1991 sidelined. 2003, 2004 and 2008 was the Ronacher host of the gala ceremony of the Nestroy Theatre Prize.
After several years as a guest house for international productions and festival events the Ronacher was expanded by 46.9 million euros to a musical stage. By mid-2008 stage technology has been modernized and lowered the floor of the stage to two meters, which means the view to the stage has been improved. The increase of the building by architect Günther Domenig was carried out despite massive political and townscape preserving concerns.
The Ronacher currently disposes of 1,001 seats and 40 standing places. The exact number of seats and standing places varies depending on the production.
