A focal point for the Grand Avenue Plaza, Stormy Plaza, located adjacent to the public library, WEATHER is designed to invoke associations with weather patterns and the influence they exert on our daily lives. At night the work of art softly glows, being illuminated from within, and creates a festive atmosphere for the site.

2000 18’H x 200’L x 50’D Commons Park, Denver, CO Native stone / Concrete A 200 ft. handicapped accessible path leads visitors to a special place, overlooking the Platte River as it flows through downtown Denver. A grand staircase descends 10 ft. to the river from the viewpoint. The north wall echoes the outline of the Front Range Mountains. Windows cut into the stone frame vistas of the landscape. The stone was cut and fitted on location.
2004 Sculpture: 30’H x 30’W x18”D Railing: 500’L New York Avenue Metro Station, Downtown, Washington, D.C. Leaf: Aluminum / Light Railing: Steel Journeys is a collaboration with Dolores Kendrick, Poet Laureate of Washington D.C. Her poetry enriches the pedestrian experience. The integration of words into the artwork contributes to the multi-layered, richly textured public space. The leaf is illuminated from within at night, providing a beacon of light at the entrance to the station.

A sketch is a rapidly executed freehand drawing that is not intended as a finished work. Artist’s sketches primarily serve as a way to try out different ideas and establish a composition before undertaking a more finished work, especially when the finished work is expensive and time consuming (as in the case of a large painting). Sketching sharpens an artist’s ability to focus on the most important elements of a subject and is a prescribed part of artistic development for students.
Currier Museum Art Center students were inspired by Abigail Anne Newbold's exhibition "Crafting Settlement" (on view March 30-July14, 2013) and created their own "settlement" during April Vacation week Art Camp.
Dave, an Educator from Squam Lake Natural Science Center, gives a "Natural Encounters" talk at the Currier Museum Art Center the last week of summer camp, in August 2012, about threatened and endangered New Hampshire animals. The Art Center students, ranging in age from 5-12, created bat "lanterns" that they then sold at the conclusion of this week-long art camp to help raise money for Bat Conservation International. The event raised a little over $400 for this non-profit.
The Currier Museum Art Center, Manchester, NH, offers classes, workshops and camps for children, teens and adults and is associated with the Currier Museum of Art.
"Iowa Cattail Screen" represents another attempt by Goldsworthy to bring his on-site art into a museum context. It's open, lace-like construction of reeds and pieces of wood spans its gallery from wall to wall, producing (for no apparent reason) a barrier across what is usually one of the museum's most heavily traveled spaces. Multiple museum guards in black suits stand guard near the piece and pounce at anyone who gets close enough that they might touch it.
