The panel answered questions about their success, leading diverse groups and creating new leaders, in and out of the military. The Army has hosted the All-American Bowl in San Antonio since 2002, highlighting the 90 best high school football players and 125 best high school marching band musicians from across the nation. The Commanding General’s 2018 Spring Company Commanders Staff Ride took place over 12-14th March and visited the Historical First World War battle sites around Liege, Belgium and Verdun, France.

 

The Mission of the staff ride was to provide selected Junior Officers a professional development opportunity that was highlighted by senior officer mentoring.

 

During the staff ride participants were able to walk the terrain of actual battle sites to discuss and examine tactical decision making and the evolution of those tactics as the war progressed. Participants also analyzed the American Expeditionary Forces involvement during the war and gained a greater appreciation of the human dimension of soldiering.

 

The sites visited included the forts of Barchon and Douamont as well as war memorials such as Voie Sacree, Montfaucon and Montsec as well as the American Cemeteries.

6th PlT Charlie Company drill sergeant candidate pick up day

Class 017-19 2th Platoon, Bravo company drill sergeant candidates attending the U.S. Army Drill Sergeant Academy conducted training on Victory Tower Oct 17, at Fort Jackson. Candidates completed the rope swing, rappelling towers, and rope bridges during the event with the help of USADSA drill sergeant leadership. Candidates were able to practice their leadership skills and teamwork throughout the training.
