For the Weird Wars 2 Brickarms contest
The 501st are one of the only recognisable American Units still left fighting the War. Following the "Incident" in Russia, all the Allied powers officially laid down their arms to avoid a similar fate. As his last act in power President Roosevelt sanctioned a splinter resistance force just before he succumbed to a zombie bite...
The 501 is the first US unit to desegregate race, realising that Nazi Germany has allied itself with an extraterrestrial and therefore people of different skin colours are far less of a worry than they had originally thought.
PIctured here left to right are the boys of the 501st Airborne.

A nice reminder during troubled times.
My wife gave me this nice desktop placard to commemorate my military service but I wanted to share it with everyone that has ever served in the military or had family or friends that did.
I was a Cold War Warrior, commissioned in 1974 and served 20 years as an Army Signal Officer. I never heard a shot fired in anger.
I am humbled whenever I meet a real combat veteran and in awe at those with multiple combat tours or even multiple wars behind them.
Recently I met an "older" vet wearing a WW2 & Korean War veteran's hat. His jacket had an Infantry patch on it. He was pushing his own cart while buying groceries in the Army commissary!
It's easy to see why they are called The Greatest Generation!
I ask that you leave a comment and tell us about your military experience or that of your family or friends throughout the years.

On this day I honor a man who has always shown me that his family is his top priority. In spite of his present circumstances he still manages to always ask her first how she dong when he sees her. His strength continues to inspire and give me comfort when I am feeling down. He hasn't complained. His optimistic attitude keeps me encouraged. More and more I can see at age 89, his days are slowly coming to an end. He has led a good life and done well for his family.
I am so blessed he survived COVID-19. I am so thankful and grateful for the care and attention the nursing home provided during those difficult times. He has not complained through it all. We are fortunate to have resume in-person visits. I hug him a lil bit more tighter and give him extra kisses each visit.
Happy Father's Day Pop Pop. You are truly one in a million.

The UNITED STATES ARMY: LEAD from the FRONT & ABOVE - HOOAH.
Quadcopters + Armored Air Insertion - BEFORE quadcopters were cool! Or the delivery of tanks by them for that matter! ;-)
I say again: HOOAH.
Expedient? Probably not at this scale.
Costly? Must be.
Risk Level? HIGH (critical/catastrophic loss of mission essential equipment).
Cool Nonetheless? Damn Skippy.
The type of tank depicted probably provides a clue as to the time period of this photo, but I don't know my tanks, so I'm guessing some time during the 1960's. With Fort Eustis being the originator of the photo, its transportation history, and serving as home to the U.S. Army Transportation Museum, I wouldn't be surprised if this photograph is in some display or another there.
