We have pulled some artifacts to share with our third grade visitors: a chest, a candlestick, an inkwell with quill pen and sand/powder shaker, an iron hanging candleholder, a bell, and a bootjack.
Over the years I've gathered pictures I've taken, pictures other have sent me, and unceremoniously dumped them into envelopes and boxes. Over time, I aggregated these small caches into one large box. Last night I started working on scanning these photos, eventually to upload them into Flickr.
(One of the reasons I got a pro account was so that I could use Flickr as a personal archive for my photos. At some point I'll order CDs (or a DVD, once that becomes an option) of them to have another archive.)
Expect to see a lot of new pictures appearing here over the coming days and weeks. At some point I'll be going back and adding additional metadata to the pictures. I want to make sure I get all the notes that were written on the back of each photo captured. I also need to estimate when the photos were taken and add that data in as well. Lots of work, but well worth it, I think.
I've started getting request via Email for me to submit a photo of myself. Here is a photo of me taken in 1960.
Oddly enough I'm uploading this photo as part of my Summer archives set as I saw this specimen during a walk through Glen Prosen in August.
If you think this photo looks familiar already then you're right as I uploaded it at the time - though the version I uploaded then was a little different.
I was going to post a photo from my Glen Lethnot walk instead as that was the more significant of the Angus Glens walks I did this year but I posted all my best stuff at the time and couldn't find anything else I particularly liked.
