Magyar Országos Levéltár - National Archive, Budapest, Hungary
The Hungarian National Archive had no proper building since its foundation in 1756. The decision to create a building for the archives was made in 1912 but the building was only finished in 1923. During the works some old military barracks were demolished near the Gate of Vienna.
The architect, Samu Petz created a Neo-Romanesque, Neo-Gothic palace similar to the Parliament or the former Ministry of Finance building. The Archive suffered heavy damage during the siege of Budapest. Near the Gate of Vienna and in the west wing many storage units were burned down. The main tower of the palace collapsed and it was never rebuilt. The reconstruction ended in 1956 - when the west wing was hit again
with heavy weapon fire and three storage rooms were consumed by the flames.
The interior reconstruction was finished in 1965 but some smaller caliber impacts are still visible on the main facade.
Adidas archive size? exclusive issue 04
graphic designer: Gary Watson
scanned image of zine.
The designer works for Adidas originals, more specifically the SPZL project where they bring back classic trainer silhouettes from the 80s casual scene.the trainers have some miner tweaks to keep up modern climate and materials that are now more widely available such as Gore-Tex.
Watson photographs the trainers amongst relics from the 80's like the Nokia brick phone and film cameras but he paints them white to adhere the futuristic ideology of the future, I believe he does this to hint that the shoes are future proof and modern classics as if they have been cryogenically frozen for a re-release.
nostalgia recurs a lot in design as it brings the viewer back to a era in their life when times were simpler, an example is the Hacienda Factory 51 club designs bright chevrons as they draw the viewers eye even if you don't know where it derived from.

Student protest -- not paid their grant funds by the government, so they were blockading the university entrance. Blockade broken by armed police and tear gas. Nobody hurt.
