À l’image de la cité Frugès, toujours repensée dans ses aspects matériels et humains par ses habitants, La Machine à Habiter se veut un laboratoire pour la vie de ce quartier atypique.

While standing across Pennsylvania Avenue at the US Navy Memorial, I spied the detail on the front of the US Archives.

The Pennsylvania Avenue pediment, by Adolph Alexander Weinman, shows "Destiny" in the center. Next to him are figures representing the Arts of Peace and War. These are flanked by figures representing the "Romance of History" and the "Song of Achievement."

Plus you know they have the original copies of the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution. Not bad.

An interesting award once presented during a dance and social organized by students at the Richard Ivey School of Business was the “PhT Award”. In 1971 two such awards were presented by Dean Jack Wettlaufer to two of the wives of graduating students. Recipients were left, Mrs. Trevor Gibson and husband, and right Mrs. Chris Flowers and husband. “PhT” was an acronym for Putting Hubby Through.

Climate controlled, this space will hold various works.

Here's a considerably more recent photo. Seeing Autumnal colours on my archive run through means that Christmas is nearly upon us, which means it's almost New Year (about the only public holiday that I care about).

This is a scene I've captured many times but I thought I'd give it another go back at the beginning of November to see if I could spot any kind of improvement in my composition and editing abilities. This photo was taken at a similar time in 2010 so I'll let you judge as to whether or not I've improved.

I suppose I should reference some recent events in conjunction with this photo as I'd imagine this waterfall would be looking very different just now due to the sheer volume of water that's fallen over the last few days. Unfortunately, I've been unable and unwilling to trudge down into Dura Den to photograph the current water levels. I may take some photos around Pitscottie tomorrow evening, assuming the rain stays off (I don't feel like getting wet if I don't have to).

Anyway, only two more photos to go and tomorrow's one is of Dura Den as well. I've saved something nice for the 24th which ties into the photo I posted on the 1st of the month.
