Midland Classic MCW Metrobus 80 is seen at their garage on 04/09/2006.
This was new as an MCW Demonstrator in 1977 and has been retained in the Midland Classic fleet as a persevered vehicle.

Hi!
I have been missing in action and haven't taken photos for awhile, so looked thru my files and came up with these three. The one above I originally posted in a yellow version. I have been an absentee contact of late, as you know. I think I'm going through burn-out where photography is concerned. I have also been low energy since my surgery, and had some blood tests that showed I wasn't anemic, but my iron is low, so I've been taking iron pills for a week but feel no change. Anyway..... I want to wish all of you who celebrate Christmas a Merry Christmas, and say a general hello to those of you who don't. I look at your photos every day, and so enjoy doing that... Big hug and kiss to you all!

Violet Grantham, Lady Mayoress of Newcastle upon Tyne, meeting a fortune-teller at the Town Moor Festival, 23 June 1937 (TWAM ref. DF.GRA/5/3). Could she have predicted that Violet Grantham would go on to serve as Sheriff 1950-51 and as Lord Mayor 1952-53?
These images belong to a series of albums documenting John Grantham’s service to the City of Newcastle upon Tyne as its Sheriff 1924-1925 and its Lord Mayor 1936-1937. John Grantham was born in Blyth in 1877 and became a cinema proprietor in Newcastle. He was elected to the City Council in 1912 and became an alderman in 1932. The albums give us an interesting insight into the duties of Lord Mayor and Sheriff as well as a fascinating picture of the times.
2016 is the 800th anniversary of the creation of Newcastle's Mayoralty and Burgesses.
