There are many areas in Kiyomizu-dera that I couldn't explore as they were closed.
Jishu Shrine is one of the areas I wanted to go as it is dedicated to deity of love and matchmaking. There is a special stone there that you find your way from one to another with your eyes closed, your wish will be granted. There are many souvenirs to get. But I guess I will have to wait until December. This time I will get to travel with my girlfriend so I guess that will be a good time for a love blessing :)

This is the reason why I decided to spend a day here: the largest castle in Japan. The main keep can be seen from a far distance (actually right from the train station as well).
This castle is also known for the White Heron Castle as the exterior looks like a bird taking off. When the sun shrines upon the castle, that white appearance of the complex is truly stunning. Just that initial impression, this castle is so much better than Osaka Castle...sorry to say that :)

I just can't go back to the hotel without paying a visit to Tokyo Tower. Even though I took a look of it couple days ago, I just have to see it again up close. There are few spots that you can go and Shiba Park is one of them.
This park is just couple minutes away from Tokyo Tower and it is so quiet at night. In addition, there isn't anything blocking your view.

Uji is a very interesting town. This little town is separated by the famous river, Uji River. Locals and tourists can get to the other side of the town quickly by using Asagiri bridge. This bridge connects to an island on Uji River and then it connects to the other side of Uji town.
An ultra wide angle lens makes this bridge looks so long :D

The first thing we did in Nanzenji was to get up here for this stunning view. Getting to the second story of Nanzen-ji's Sanmon was quite difficult as the stairs were very steep. There is a warning sign to be very careful going up and down the stairs.
But in the end, it is all worth all the effort. The view from the Sanmon Gate was beautiful. we believed that it will be even more stunning when the red leaves were here. During that moment, the sun was too strong so I needed to bracket my shot to get a proper exposure....after editing, I am pleased with the results :D

After a quick walk in Ōkōchi Sansō, it was time to move on. In Arashiyama area, there are just so many temples and they are just 5-10mins walk distance. My next destination is Tenryū-ji (天龍寺). It is one of the most famous and visited temples in Kyoto.
Many people come here in the autumn for maple leaves photos. Most of the complex in Tenryū-ji are opened to the public but most people will spend the time in the Sōgen Pond and Ōhōjō. The scenery here is just amazing.
