Byodonin (平等院) is a Buddist temple that is built back in Heian period. The main attraction of this temple is definitely the Phoenix Hall where there is a giant Buddha statue sitting in the middle of the hall.
Because this temple is very famous, they actually made a replica in Hawaii which looks quite similar to the original one. Unfortunately, you cannot take any photos inside the Phoenix Hall but I can say that the Buddha statue inside the hall is just stunning :)

A couple sits by a lake in central park. Two architectural icons can be seen - to the left partially cropped out the Dakota building (built in 1882), and to the right the San Remo Building.
The architectural style easily outdates the 1930's art deco styles seen in Midtown. These buildings are constructed in a style called German Renaissance.

Sometimes it is good to look at the scene in different angles; you might be able to find a good leading line.
The more we go deeper of Nanzenji, we more we great scene we find. Like many other temples, Nanzenji has some of the most beautiful gardens. We wish we could stay longer and enjoy that moment of quietness :)
