Like many other temples, Chionji Temple is divided into many sections. Unfortunately, the Main Hall was under renovation which we couldn't go in and visit. Other parts of the temples were still opened to the public.
My girlfriend asked me if I will get bored going around these temples and shrines. To be honest, I love exploring these temples and shrines. Each of them is so unique and has its own history. It is so fun to understand the history and motive of each one. So I can proudly tell her that even though I came to Kyoto twice, I still think this city is so fun to explore.

Kyoto Station is so eye catching because of its unique design. I came here multiple times and I was always in a rush that I didn't have time to explore this station.
This futuristic station makes a huge contrast to traditional city like Kyoto. Kyoto Station has everything you need: restaurants, shops, and hotels. I wish there is a station like this nice in Vancouver :D

As we explored deeper in Nanzenji temple., we found out an aqueduct. Compared to its Japanese surroundings, it is actually quite unique.
Because of this unique structure, many people spend a lot of time taking selfies here. We were not surprised as we did it as well :).

We decided to visit Chionji Temple before taking train to Nara as we heard a lot of good things about this. Chion-ji Temple has one of the biggest temple gate in Kyoto.
When we were standing in front of the gate, we were speechless as we didn't expect the gate to be this gigantic. We had to go in and stand from far apart to see the whole gate. This temple is very famous by students as they always come here to pray for passing the exam and getting good grades.

When I first stood in fron of Heian Shrine, it reminds me of the Forbidden City in Beijing. It gives me a very calm feeling as it is located at the center of Okazaki Park.
As usual, the center of the shrine is blocked so you can only enter the shrine from the side doors. I believe that the main gate will only be opened during the major festivals.
