Technology is not a panacea. It alone will not move your art forward. Only through developing your own aesthetic - free from the tools that create it - can you find new dimension to your work. - Robert Hall

At Sydney Wildlife World, a red kangaroo approaches a hidden feeding trough but stops to look at a nearby joey. The red kangaroo is the largest species of kangaroo at up to 5 feet long and 200 pounds in weight. Kangaroos are becoming so common in Australia that hunting of kangaroos is encouraged. The amount of car accidents caused by kangaroos is rising dramatically, and they have even begun to show up in cities and attack people from fear. Kangaroo meat is used in Australian dishes and tastes similar to beef.

The Sydney Olympic Park Railway Station serves the stadiums and sportsgrounds of the Olympic Park. These sports facilities were built for the 2000 Summer Olympics, but are retained for post-games uses. The design of the station is critically acclaimed by many. It has won the 1998 BHP Colorbond Award for innovative use of steel architecture, and the 1998 Sir John Sulman Medal, from the Royal Australian Institute of Architects.
Crosses the street to a structure (the structure in the distance) where people can stand or sit and enjoy the ocean view. The Scripp's Pier is just below to the left. The support cables and tower in the middle are in the shape of a ships sail. A great piece of architecture. A view from the backyard garden of the Richard Leplastrier house; This particular mountain is located in a valley that is still aboriginal territory. These lands, located in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales, are sacred to the aborigines and have remained untouched by any development. Just over the peaks of the Blue Mountains, the deserts known as the Outback being and stretch across the continent to the Western coast.
Architects such as Richard Leplastrier strive to bring the outdoors into their houses. This house is open to the outdoors year round even though there are harsh winters in the Blue Mountains. Multiple layers of enclosure help control the indoor climate while allowing fresh air and beautiful views of the mountains. This particular house was constructed only from local timbers.

Tamboerije is a new home for the elderly in Best, Holland. Specific for this model were the vertical rooftiled walls. Integrating the bend windows into those was a little bit of a challenge, but all worked out nicely in the end.

No it's not HDR - it's real sunlight and actual reflections - and some truly Gotham City-styled architecture. [Best Viewed Large]
El Tovar Hotel, the premier lodging facility at the Grand Canyon, opened its doors in 1905 and was most recently renovated in 2005. The former Harvey House is just 20 ft from the south rim of the Grand Canyon. The dark wood dining room boasts an incredible view. In the past, El Tovar has hosted such luminaries as Theodore Roosevelt, Albert Einstein, Western author Zane Grey, and many others. The hotel is also featured in the 1983 film, National Lampoon's Vacation.
The hotel is one of only a handful of Harvey House facilities that are still in operation. Designed by Charles Whittlesey, Chief Architect for the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railway it is an fine example of National Park Service Rustic architecture.

This is a second favorite to another shot I took of Dale Chihuly's "The Sun 14'x14'x14'" after the real sun went down. I like how this image shows the new lighted wall leading toward the Sun and how the couple, especially the woman sitting on the wall, is admiring the glass sculpture. It's very important to me to include people and environments in my compositions to show how humans interact with art and architecture. Best viewed large.
