This capture in the very early darkness is on the railroad bridge at Harpers Ferry where it crosses the Potomac River. The pedestrian walkway there also serves as the Appalachian Trail crossing of the river. The lighting there is a combination of the town, dawn, and the railroad red lights that are behind me in this capture. It was a cool breezy morning.

Esplanade? Really?

Cityview Plaza. Downtown San Jose, April 2017. It's such a simple shot, but it took a while for it to come together. I stood in the middle of an empty square, trying not to look like a weirdo, while I waited for the right sized plane with the right flight path to come through. Shot with Fujifilm XPro2 and 18-55mm f2.8-4 lens in Acros.

A photo of contrasting architectural styles, from memory I think this was taken somewhere in Soho, London.

I'll revert to uploading photos from last Autumns trip to the Cote d'Azur but first I need to process some more so for the next few days my photostream might continue to be a bit random......

The Loggia del Papa is a 15th-century Renaissance open-air arcade in the Piazza of the same name in Siena, Tuscany, on Via del Porrione. The Loggia was erected by Pope Pius II in honor of his family. Construction was commenced in 1462 and completed within a year. It was a busy period for Pius, as he had also just finished a massive reconstruction of his nearby home village and renamed it Pienza, after his good self. Next to the Loggia (on the right) is the baroque Catholic church of San Marino. It pre-dates the Loggia by several hundred years (!!), however the impressive facade was (only recently) added in 1613, with the bell tower being completed in 1738.

As you can see from my photograph, I was alone on the street. It was not long after sunrise in Autumn, so even in shadows I was getting really crisp reflected light.
