The appetizer… or “the beauty and the beast”. The beauty, one anhuma (native name) on the right with 3 feet high. On the left, the beast, around 10 feet no more. Not so big but not so small too… At dawn I was driving my car through the reserve and each of them seemed hypnotized by the other. At noon, they were still face to face, motionless without taking care of the trucks and the cars nearby. At twilight, on the way back, the place was deserted except a heap of blue feathers; the last remains left by the beauty.

A pretty tame cup of lunch soup -- mostly chicken broth with a bit of cilantro and veggies in it. Disappointingly tame -- would have hoped for a little lemongrass punch or something like that.
