(21 Decenmber) There are now 10 hives,
there were only 3 hives at the beginning of Spring 2017,
2 of the originals are now producing honey after heavy use for splitting and strengthening AND one hive created this year is also producing honey in its upper supers.
Two more are extremely near to starting their upper honey supers.

The first four hives in the bush. I currently have 17 hives in various places, though only a few actually have bees yet.

Singapore Botanic Garden- pic 20 of 98: An apiary housing stingless bees in the Singapore Botanic Garden. I could not spot any bees flying about, not that I would have recognized them as stingless bees anyway. The sign in the foreground is fairly self explanatory if viewed in full screen or expanded mode. Various sections of the Singapore Botanic Garden educate the public about the various uses for plants- their use in medicine, as food and for foraging, for ceremonies (face paint, dyes etc) and for hunting amidst the trees etc. They also demonstrate how the forest environment can help other human activity, like bee keeping here, for instance. Spread over 200 acres and stretching about 2.5 km north to south, the Singapore Botanic Garden is one of only three gardens worldwide that is UNESCO World Heritage listed. I am probably killing the jargon, but I think the frames are the place where the combs are and the box is where the frames rest to make a complete hive
