My answer to question 9, What was the last brave thing that I did? Kind of tongue in cheek, as I don't really consider myself a regular doer of brave things! My answer: I kept my son when he turned 13! Seriously, I wouldn't trade him for all of the $$ in the world!! But parenting a teenager brings with it a new set of challenges. I ave found myself having to summon up courage to broach tough subjects like sex, drugs, peer pressure. At times it's uncomfortable for both of us. But I look for opportunities to bring it up subtly & we've been able to discuss these subjects seriously since the start of middle school. And we keep doing it. Sometimes awkward, most of the time, OK. I would still like us to talk more, but what we have is good. Love U Nick.
